Hi there i'm Julie 25 year old and have major writer's block have for quite sometime the last thing I wrote was a poem in honour of my mother after she passed. I really want to write again but find I know what I want to write and having hard time I guess finding the words to put it into or even getting out what I know is in there any help would be great appreciated.

Hello Julie, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

The best way to defeat writers block, which many claim doesn't even really exist, is to just sit down and start writing. Don't edit yourself, don't think of it as a final draft, just write, even if it is all nonsense. With word processors, you don't have to start over whenever you begin a new draft. The typewriter or quill days are over, so the unpolished stuff that flows from your fingertips will not get in your way in the next draft.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

hello and welcome to the forum
I hope that you have a most wonderful time here with all of us and don't worry, you will at some point come face to face with the forum crazies, but they don't bite at all, so you are pretty safe I guess. If they do bite....hmmm....
have fun and see you around the boards anyways....
