    Hello, can you hear me?

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Freethesea, Aug 3, 2016.

Hi to all the members! I can't believe how refreshing it is to read the comments of others and to realize there are so many people who feel the same as I do. Or at least they express themselves in a way so that makes me think they feel like as I do.

Also the helpful feedback that writers are receiving from members who are kind enough to donate the time to analyze their work or answer questions, is impressive.

I'm hoping to stay around awhile to give and take in that process.

Like everyone else here, I'm driven to write. It helps me talk less which is good for the world in general and when I manage my time to be creative, I become a very organized person. And that's another good thing for the world in general.

So basically, by continuing to write, I'm saving mankind.

Hi I.A. By the Barn. Thanks for the welcome! 'Good afternoon' means you're somewhere very far away as the roosters are still crowing here.

Yes, I've just finished a YA book only to discover that things like platforms are influential as well. Big 'whoops' on that one. I was published many moons ago when such media beasts did not exist. So instead of studying the currents first, I jumped in the water and now I'm grabbing at preservers. Down deep, I think I knew better but writing again seemed more important that publishing.
I received my first agent rejection only a week ago and it was like shot through the heart. Actually, more like a pin-pop to my helium balloon. However, after reading the comments on this site, it's seems like I need to chalk a few more marks on the wall to even qualify for a complaint. So I'm back in the saddle, as 'BirdsDontCry' might say. I changed some things, rewrote my query, and I'm resubmitting today.

    And you?

Sorry I.A. By the Barn. I just noticed you have included what you're working on. Can't wait to read some of it...or have you already posted it somewhere? I'm still in discovery mode on this site...

Hi Ka Trian! Thanks for the welcome from the 'Staff' and I appreciate the 'new member quick start' advise. Will check it as soon as I take a break from saving mankind.

I have just finished a YA manuscript and now I'm facing the facts.

I love your quote by Yevgeny. Flares up the pride.

How nice that you're married to a fellow writer...and working on a book together...I think. That in itself influences me, as a reader, to break out the cha-ching.

SoulGalaxyWolf, we are old friends! We joined on the same day and confessed to bad grammar. But you have been much busier than me. Tomorrow I take a day off from saving the world so hopefully I can scope the site out more effectively. Thanks for the official welcome!

Yep, I remember X3. I'm sure you're going to find more to like about this website, and maybe by being on this website more often will help us both on our grammar. You're welcome. Have a nice day.

Hi! I'm new here too. It's always nice to find compatriots :) I think writing gets my thoughts out of my system and used more productively myself. I'd annoy people with all my thoughts otherwise.

Well you'll have to show your copyright for that shtick. Date included. I began saving the world many years ago and sure, there were times when the planet was nearly sucked into the black hole or tilted on it's axis a tenth of an inch too far too the right. But it's still here and I'd like to think I had something to do with that by pounding on a keyboard at exactly the right moment.

Documentation Sir, or take off the cape.

Awwww. An honest superhero... Put the cape back on! You deserve it. We'll share the responsibility of safeguarding the human race. Write on!

Obviously I'm Batman. Oh, and Hans Solo (resurrected). You're Robin, and Jar Jar Binks (resurrected). This is the best I can offer at this point in time.

I'd rather be Alfred. At least he had some dignity.

You lost your cape then earned it back. Immediately after your reinstatement, you pushed to be Batman. A bit ambitious...but true Super Hero spunk. Agreeing to be Robin was just a test.

    You passed.
