I have been trying to come up with a sort of "magic system" to accompany my world of beasts for the longest time, but now realize it may sound too much like aot, as the whole gist of these items is for fighting and conquest. Not to mention the themes in my story dealing with revenge and violence. Thank you in advance for any thought on this, as I don't want to write and share this story only for it to lack any originality
What is AOT? Most things have been done before, I would not worry too much about similarities if you have your own story.

As long as you understand that your breaking the physics, and can keep that consistent you should be good. (This applies to more than swords, but it is a good example).
I don't recall there being any large household weapons in AoT, but maybe you're thinking of their ODM gear blades that are like exacto-knives. No. I don't think, anyone has the copyright on household weapons. What kind were you thinking of?
