Spelling Tools and weapons made by a blacksmith

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Davi Mai, Aug 22, 2020.

Is it correct to say those objects have been "Smithed"? or is it "Smithy'd"? or neither, because you can't use "smith" in that way?
    Thanks.

I'd say neither. I would use 'made' or 'fashioned'.

Ahh, found an example of "shape" already from Iain A. Probably in the "not happy thread" as I was browsing.
