    I'm not an expert, but looking at the specs, it appears to be rigged for gaseous fuel sources, so maybe not all if you only have liquid?

    That aside, I would email the manufacturer of whatever it is you're looking at. They'd love to sell you something and tend to be amenable to inquiries like that.

    So those big generators like the one you pictured are the same type we use in the military for hardened buildings and hospitals use in case of power outages. The generator itself does not have an internal fuel tank, but will be rigged to a large external tank. The hard part with saying precisely how long a generator is going to run on 1000 gallons of fuel is the load. If you just idle the motor or have a few simple things pugged into it, it might take a few days to burn through it. However, start adding load to it, like an entire hospital complex with all the lights and electronics turned on, 1000 gallons is going to probably get you 24 hours or less. Most facilities will set their generators with two side by side for redundancy, each with it's own external fuel tank of 1000-2000 gallons of diesel.
