I thought it would be nice to have a thread specially for the various festivities we celebrate around the world. Today (5th November) marks the anniversary of Guy Fawkes' foiled plot to blow up the Houses Of Parliament in England back in 1605. This is usually celebrated with fireworks, bonfires and burning straw figures. I know Thanksgiving is on the way for others, and of course Christmas next month. So, for those celebrations and many others, feel free to share plans, pictures, memories of various events. Enjoy.
Diwali is November 7th this year. Every year it's close to Bonfire Night/Guy Fawkes Day; same deal, one's a festival of light, the other's an anniversary of a plot foiled... Both celebrated with fireworks. Every year since I can remember these two festive dates have overlapped.
Tempted to light the bonfire, but, I can do that all year round. It's 10 pm now, so, maybe not tonight, but, the temptation is there this week.
