Hello, all! I am FromStrangeLands and I have been "writing" to some capacity since I was a very young child. I am currently studying business at a university (even artists need to eat) and am currently in bad pretty bad spot due to roommate complications and the COVID lockdown, so I would like to come somewhere I can discuss a shared interest and passion with likeminded people to escape from my reality if only for a fee minutes a day. My first love was vampire/werewolf fiction, as I was in upper elementary and middle school when the Twilight boom occurred but I hardly touch either subject all these years later. In middle school, I became very much into sci fi and got the farthest I ever have with a writing project when I got roughly seventy pages done of a (very) rough draft of a space opera. Nowadays, I have come to the realization that I am simply in love with campiness; anything that is absurd in concept but plays its story grounded and straight through is something that I can enjoy reading, watching, and, of course, writing. I currently write extremely campy fantasy, urban fantasy, science fiction, and spy thrillers and have thought about telling a superhero story through the eyes of some of the villain's lackeys. Of course, nothing I have written has been published, but I hope to change that some day. I also dabble a bit in poetry, which tends to be the most personal and introspective genre I write in.
