Is there a Canadian writers' organization you'd recommend belonging to? I'm a retired journalist currently writing fiction and non-fiction. I have never belonged to a group.
Sorry to be pedantic, but as writers of course this stuff is our meat and potatoes. Are you looking for a Canadian group for writers, or a group for Canadian writers? Or perhaps the much more specific and exclusive Canadian group for Canadian writers? Or does it matter? Sorry, I'm mostly just playing around with words.
Let's just say that I'm not looking for a writing club or writers' club. I have a small group of friends who are published writers of fiction and non-fiction, so I am not interested in a group that meets once in a while to talk writing. I can do that with my old friends in the game. I was more specifically looking for a professional organization in Canada (and yes, for Canadian writers) that would possibly advise on contract negotiations for example and other practical aspects of the writing life.
