A character in my story, set in the late 90s, is something called an animator, a being who can take objects with strong psychic imprints on them and bring them to life as their new body. This character will start the story in a teddy bear but will move into a mystery-machine-esque panel van by the end of the first chapter. Now, an important part of my setting is that silver is a potently anti-magic material that has adverse effects on nearly any magical creature put into direct contact with significant quantities of it. An animator cannot possess anything made out of silver, and any silver that's a part of the object creates a dead zone around it (proportional to how large the piece is) that rapidly ceases to be considered a part of the animator's body, and that the animator cannot influence or feel. And it was while thinking of this that I realized that lots of metals are used for lots of different things, and after a quick google search, yes, it seems that silver is used in certain amounts in cars. So now I'm trying to get a sense of what this would mean for my character. It doesn't sound like enough silver is in a car to make the idea of possessing one a bad idea, but it might put limitations on what parts of the car the animator can feel or control.
In electric vehicles there about 25 to 50 g of silver in the batteries I can’t imagine there’s much in a gas car except maybe in the electronics
