I've written an Agatha Christie pastiche (of an Hercule Poirot story). It's a bit long, so I don't think it would work to post it here, but I would like to get some comments on it to learn whether I'd captured her style adequately. Is there a forum where I can do this? I'd put it in my blog, but I'm not sure if that would be legal, since most of the Christie oeuvre is still under copyright protection. And the same thing might go for posting it here. But I'm thinking that there must be a place where writers of pastiches can put their stuff out for comment. Any clues?
Hello JLT, nice to see you here. I confess I had to google the term "pastiche" lol. By a bit long, how long do you mean? You can post up to 5000 in the Workshop.
Good to see you again, JLT. I'm a huge Christie/Poirot fan. I not only read the books cover to cover multiple times, but also listened to multiple voice artists do dramatisations of Poirot on the BBC, watched various actors act as Poirot in films, and played multiple computer games that tried to bring the Poirot books to video-games. If you like, JLT, I'll be happy to critique this for you and make comments (not just on spelling/grammar, but also if a moment especially "works" -- or doesn't -- I'll say so, and make suggestions). Please feel free to drop me a PM, and we'll take it from there.
Right now, it's at about 7500 words. A bit too long. And I still wonder about whether it violates a copyright issue concerning the use of Christie's characters.
Will do. BTW, I've changed my avatar from "Hell Cat" because, after fifteen years or so, I felt that fellow contributors had a right to know what I look like.
