Ugh I drank so many shots and cocktails last night... >_< Bleh. It was a good day though, we had a crowd of about 25 down at the beach watching the fireworks, and then played drinking games and darts at my mum's friends' place all night, and went to the beach this morning. It was pretty fun.
Australia day went off lol I had the best night lol I wennt through (even though I'm not meant to be drinking anymore ) 2 cartons of Bundy Rum....and the last of my bottle of Elijah Craig from my b-day....wasn't much left though lol Happy Aussie convict day for yesterday all you aussie convicts like me lol Oh and me and my mate had a Bundaberg rum flag and a aussie flag lol the bundy flag had an emu and kangaroo so was more aussie then the aussie flag as far as we was concerned lol but yeah had a great one. Hope the rest of the Aussies here had a great Australia day as well. And heather any day celebrating your country is a fabulous day even if it isn't a holiday. It shows pride in your country. I saw a lady hitch hiking and drove half hour out of my way to give her a lift to another town whilst she was on her way back to the city after missing her bus 2 hours earlier. It is illegal too, but it was hot and she was a very lovely lady too. I felt good for it too.

We have flag day in Feb. and Canada Day July 1. Big parties all over the country for Canada Day. Even small towns have fireworks. It is a day to show your pride of country. glad you seem to have had fun everyone who celebrated. My granddaughter does not say flag for the Canada flag. She points and shouts Canada. for every canadian flag but just says flags for all the others. Kind of cute to see her so patriotic at the age of 2. Sean is also very patriotic.
I think it is illegal cause there are so many murders and what not over here. I'm not entirely sure to be honest. That is the reason Torana. Canadians are advised to not hitch hike in Australia. Here tourists hitch hike all across Canada. We see them all summer long along the highway. It is the only road that goes right across Canada. We also get them biking across which I think is totally nuts. too many mountains but I guess it gets you in training for something.
ow okii dokii. We picked up a ahitchhiker a few times, like when their cars have broke and stuff. Watching the film, Hitchiker, I would never do it myself. Or having watched Wolf Creek I would never accept a tow. *shudders*
The danger of hitchhiking definitely added a "creepy" factor to the short story you wrote a few months ago, one that I don't think was part of your original intent.
What, the peice for my English coursework?? I was thinking of expanding that actually, like formaing an actualy story around it rather than it just being a snippet. I would never like to hitch hike, or take a hitch hiker, but I couldn't leave someone by the side of the road
The safest thing to do is to call for someone to help a stranded motorist, either from a mobile phone or from the next roadside public phone.
Aye a guess, but then part of me thinks that we shouldn't be so untrusting of people. It is very few that set out to hurt people.
But those who ARE inclined to hurt people use such situations to their advantage. A lot. The best course is to be helpful without placing yourself at undue risk.
True. I can be a little naive sometimes where trusting everyone is concerned, which isn't smart. lol.
