Who Are Some Recognizable Tweakers/Meth Heads In Pop Culture [Even If A Bit Obscure]

Discussion in 'Research' started by frigocc, Oct 13, 2021.

Looking for my character to use an insult towards a tweaker that is a reference to someone in pop culture (probably a movie or something). Currently, using Youngblood Priest, but he was a coke dealer, not meth or heroin. Any ideas? Bonus points if the soundtrack to the movie or show is soul, funk, or disco (anything 70s).

First person I think if is that woman from Breaking Bad, but Skinny Pete is the only one I can remember by name that has a tweaker image.

Jane Margolis, played by Krysten Ritter. She didn't seem like a tweaker or methhead or anything though, in fact it was surprising when she suddenly did speedballs with Jesse. Skinny Pete really fits the part.

Actually, that wasn't even the one I was thinking, but she would be good if they are looking for a more functional but still toxic addict. I was thinking of the prostitute, the one that Hank has Jr. Talk to. I think she was the one that crushed her husband with the ATM but not sure. Did she show up in Better Call Saul and she distributed his cell phones? I might be imagining that.

Funny, because that's literally the one nickname I can't really use. Already have another character call something Stinky Pete (from Toy Story). Lots of nicknames...

That was Wendy. She wasn't in it for long, just one episode I think, but I remember the name because of Hank's immortal "How 'bout a windy, Wendy?" Also there used to be an excellent video on YouTube where somebody cut together a montage of her to the song "Everyone Knows it's Windy" (60's song). That's long gone though unfortunately.

Nope, different people. I don't think either of them ever had a name on the show, they were just extras. I THINK.

    D'oh! Apparently it's back!

Maybe it was actually shot this way for the show? It looks like it must have been, or they would have needed many episodes to get all those shots of her plying her trade in cars. It's brilliantly done I think.

I had forgotten. I found it on youtube and watched it like a dozen times and after a while I thought somebody had made their own montage lol!!

I think of Earl from The Walking Dead.

My favorite remains Bubbles from The Wire.
