    Snacks.

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Normal, Feb 18, 2010.

I don't snack while I write (usually) but i've been spending more and more time in my office, occasionally I'll bring baby carrots and dip. My question is, do you snack while you write? If so what do you snack on?

Great question. I usually don't snack, but if I do, it will be some light candy. I usually snack when I read. While I write however, I drink soda. Gets the brain going and all.

    I eat cake.

Sugar is what the brain runs off of.

Hot coffee with heavy cream and lots of sugar and biscotti (I received a giant tub of biscotti for Christmas this year :) ). Either that or I will have milk and cookies or candy of some kind. I kind of have a sweet tooth.

That's right, Smeagol. Black Coffee is the only way to go.

Hahaha well I drink black coffee too on occasion but the heavy cream and sugar keeps me from spending lots of money on lattes or other really expensive espresso drinks.

I don't eat while I read - I read while I eat. Meals are major reading times for me, 'cept family dinner. :) Not quite on topic with the thread, but hey.

I love juice, I find myself drinking so many juiceboxes when I'm studying. I also have a thing for hairy-lemon drinks (you know those effervescent tablets for hang-overs). When I'm ploughing through my 200+ page psych. readings I find myself drinking litres of it.

Tea, hot, or cold and sweet (hence, the South), and I'm always hungry, it seems, so I eat a lot of grapes, dry cereal, and I am almost always drinking something. Whatever's around, I'll eat (ex, to my immediate right is a bag of pita chips).

Back when I was in school, I spent a lot more time writing (when I should have been doing my homework ;)), and usually when I wrote, I had to have cheese its to snack on.

Now when I snack while writing (like now), it's usually on a bag of M&Ms. My weakness.

I'm not a huge fan of food in general. I drink a lot of tea and coffee(I agree with Lavarian's sentiments by the way), while I write. I also have the disgusting habit of smoking and end up doing so, while I write.

Kill him! (How can you NOT like food?)

I'll eat anything that's around... Assuming it's food, of course.

I don't eat while writing. I find it distracting. I do drink tea. I have a toddler running around pulling anything and everything he can off the computer desk, so I try to keep my surroundings pretty bare. haha

I used to snack sometimes (mostly Marmite and toast) when I wrote longhand but now I don't like to get the laptop sticky...

I do a heap of coffee and snack on various items like cookies or chips. I'm a junk food kind of guy.

Oh man, I was hoping to get some specifics from writer types :) For example, if you eat Sour Cherry Blasters, do you suck on them till all that grainy sour taste comes off and then chew them? Yes I know, I'm to demanding :)

I like to crunch on old fashioned hard candies, lemon and green apple being my favorite flavors. Jolly ranchers are a second best choice, and cinnamon discs third.

I find food too distracting while i write but coffee or any kind of beverage for that matter is my usual fare. There's a particularly tasty cereal/chocolate milk hybrid they sell in my area whose tag line is"eat and drink". Although the title is quite irksome i do enjoy it:)

I wrote two chapters today while snacking on wok-fried teriyaki pork chunks.
