    Acknowledgement and Influences?

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by The95Writer, Mar 6, 2014.

I am wondering, can I write certain influences in my non-fiction book like famous authors and such. Even if the individuals never contributed to my book in anyway, I would just like to include the figures who inspired me - the ones alive and the ones who have passed. Is it okay and do I need permission?

if you're referring to naming them on the 'acknowledgements' page, of course you can... it's done all the time... and you don't need permission...

OK, that is good to hear. Is it good to bullet-point list them or just to write an actual sentence-structured passage.

no bullet points, just include them in a nicely worded, normal paragraph... take a look at the acknowlegements pages of several books you have on hand, to see how it's done...
