    Comma or No Comma?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by RaymHensley, Sep 8, 2011.

    Aloha.

Should a comma go after "read"?

I didn't see the part that read "Please do not post messages relating to sales or support issues".

    Thanks!

I second Evelon's view. The presence of a comma after "read" gives a brief moment of pause, allowing the message inside the quote be independent, sort of.
