That's the best plan to have - it's the same with research. Attack it from multiple angles and see what fits! Good luck x
I second what @cutecat22 said about writing out the epilogue and seeing how it works out. I'd add that you might benefit from showing the end result to your beta-readers or anyone else whose opinion on writing you respect. @KaTrian and I are also considering an epilogue containing a few scenes for our current WIP, so we're in the process of writing it and then we'll ask our betas for their opinions to gain outside viewpoints that may highlight something we might've missed.
