Its almost November. I can't wait to play Ice. Raven's bad guys never scared me, just made me wonder why they were so angry and wanted to hurt people.
Villains are so much fun. Maybe it's sadistic, but I've found I enjoy playing the occasional sociopath.
Well you all if for a treat. I've just spent the last hour writing up some goofd babbies. and a little sneak. First theirs Old One eye (Drekk) Then theirs Jeramiah Eldar. Oh he's a bad un' And another called Rabbaddon. He's a real treat. There are more but I'll post them up in the villians section of the main post before the 1st of November.
Raven you're playing trick or treat with your bad guys a little to late. Halloween is October 31st not November 1st.
One week today and it all begins. Just a few notes. everyone will be wearing thick snow coats and during the day will be wearing golden tinted shades to protect their eyes from the blinding white and also protect their eyes from the strong icy winds. The shades are round and have the sides covered up as well (Like swimming goggles.)
I'm relieved. A bunch of folk running around wearing tank tops and cargo pants in the middle of a blizzardy wasteland would've tortured my obsessive-compulsive nature...
Kay...um...will these parkas come off at all during the mission? I mean, if these are all we're gonna wear, it kinda defeats the purpose of writing in other clothing items, does it not?
I have the same question as Teele. Also, my dude is in a robe.............would a snowcoat not fit with a long baggy robe that flows in the wind, with a cape, and a hood?
Naw, an overcoat would probably fit over top. I have kinda the same issue with Spence's trench coat. But meh. As long as he doesn't have to wear it all the time.
But why would I even need a snowcoat? Yes, I mean its really cold, but the people who live in the dessert have really cold nights, their robes keep them warm....don't they? Yeah as long as my character doesn't need to wear it all the time. And he has a hood....wouldn't that protect him from the sun? I mean I agree as long as my character doesn't need to wear it all the time, but still I don't see the purpose of me even having clothes for my character if we were suppose to have a uniform of snowcoats and goggles.
Yeah, I'm assuming that we'll probably have a few chances to ditch the parkas. But yeah, arctic temperatures are waaaaay colder than a desert at night. Plus, if it is to be assumed that we're in another Ice Age; we could be talking very much colder than even arctic. Also, it's not the sun particularly that we're protecting; its the glint off the snow and ice. Snow blindness, I'm told, is a particularly Bad Thing. Even though it does kinda impede the 'image' of most characters, it would, in all likelihood be quite necessary. As long as we're not required to wear them permanently, I'm okay with it.
Nobody told you guys you could have your own cool, badass clothes. We're trekking across a frozen planet, ya'll should've taken that into account. [/smug] Also, the sun isn't the problem, it's the reflection of the sun off the snow -- the glare is blinding. Also, people who live in deserts either have a load of blankets, or central heating (People who live in desserts are lucky sons of bitches) Not to mention that uniforms promote unit cohesion. And remind you who not to shoot...
I think this is an important point. My character might grumble a bit at giving up her own custom parka but she'll swiftly customize anything she's given by adding some pockets or any other little alterations she can think of. Leaka, you might want to do some reading about Arctic conditions (believe me, a robe is not going to cut it and your raven is going to hate you for life for taking him out there...lol) and maybe watch The Empire Strikes Back again to get into the mood of the game. (I can ALWAYS watch The Empire Strikes Back. ) We are not talking about an environment that is a bit chilly. We're talking about an environment that will freeze your guts quite quickly if you're not very, very careful. One way you COULD play it is to have him not be used to the snowcoat because he doesn't go out much.
Ok folks image wise the shades are for the daytime. Much of the travelling will be done by night easier to hide in plain sight that way. As for big warm coats. C’mon its an Ice age you have to bare in mind you need to be kept warm or you’ll die very quickly. Leaka I’ve been in a desert at night and yes it gets very clod. But its nothing compared to been stuck in below freezing temperatures. You would die within 5 minutes your body would freeze within less than twenty minutes. When your in the warm places i.e. domes you’ll not need the main coats. But for outside travel sorry folks but you’ll need to be protected. I’m not too fussed what colour your coats are as long as their not Pink with purple and yellow spots. But the hint for clothing is kinda in the games name. ICE.
LOL! Yup, sure. I don't have a problem with the arctic gear at all, I was just wondering if it made sense to detail the clothing underneath. I've made the appropriate adjustment to my profile....
