Okay, everybody ready to do some poetry challenges? This is a fun game I used to play. You don't have to worry about following a specific style. Just have fun with it. Alright, 2 steps to this. Step 1: You will receive a subject and an emotion from the previous writer. You must write a poem about the subject (interpret it however you want) with the emotional feel of the chosen emotion. Ex: Dogs with Sadness I lost a bet I made with my dad When I was just a little lad. He got me a puppy with big brown fur. And I told him I'd always take care of her. Because I was a little lad, Who thought I could do no bad. Yet today I lose that bundle of aged fur, And I cried about the bet that makes me mad, That my dog will end up waiting in heaven, with dad. Step 2: Choose a new subject and emotion for the next person. (Warrior with Hope)
Warrior with Hope The last villain was quickly slain, And the warrior sheathed his blade. 'Maybe this will be the last battle I see, And the last blood I spill,' he prayed. Jealousy with Lips
Jealousy with Lips Shade red Were I to have those tender lips, I could bed whomever I choose. Shade red Were I to have those full bodied lips, I would never lose. Shade red Were I to have those angel's lovely lips, I wouldn't resort to booze. (Sunshine with Anger)
The sun beats down and the world keeps getting warmer As the hurricanes amount, so does the horror For oh so long the sun has given us life But now, it seems, it gives us strife Why can's scientists and politicians ever agree? And am I drinking fair trade coffee? What's going on at every train station? And why do I feel, such extreme agitation? What's going on? What's causing this fuss? Is the sun's anger turning upon us? What else can it be? What can we do? There's nothing else, that is what we shall stick our problems to... (Technology and Depression)
Memes I see them in my dreams A momentary distraction A perpetual inaction They are an addiction A blessed affliction (War and Love)
Mud is the taste of your kisses. Blue, the color of your eyes. Calf-deep in fetid water. Imagine my surprise. Casual conversation. A cigarette shared in the night. Your warm hand in mine through the worst of the fight. (Forest with Longing)
Forest with Longing I long for the forest with its Birds chirping on dew covered pine-tree branches, Honey bees buzzing around their wax paper folded home, Worms shifting through moist soil, Bears yawning after their winter nap, And Salmon learning how to jump waterfalls. (Shadows, Light, and Fear)
(Sorry this one took so long to write. Had to wait for the inspiration on this one. I had the general idea of what I wanted to do though.) We are the secondary, The truly scary, And not very ordinary. If you think living... Living in someone's shadow Is truly hard to do. Try being the shadow. Oh normally it's nice and pleasant and even a bit cozy. Yet... have you ever wondered Why we live down here. It's because of our fear, Our fear of what? Fear of light of course. That damn fright of course Leads us to expand and shrink Just to block it from view. If you weren't there when it comes out... I'm really not sure What we would do... (Stupidity with Envy)
