After reading through the character sheets and first post... I have found a major problem that needs to be addressed... There is not currently a stable hand as a character of this medieval fantasy... I will address this problem personally.
This is my first attempt at a female character! Name: Lydia Meduin Gender: Female Race: Human Age: 21 Appearance: Lydia is of average height for a human female, around 5'6. She has long brown hair that reaches down her back and is usually in a braid. She is most often seen in riding clothes, leather trousers, a green and brown tunic, and a leather vest. Background: Lydia is no one in particular, no one important anyway. She was born in Highguard's castle town, and raised there. Her mother died of consumption when Lydia was very young, and she was raised by her father and grandparents. Her father is a well known blacksmith and saddle maker. He still lives in the castle town, along with Lydia's aged grandparents. Given her father's business, Lydia spent much of her youth around horses, and developed a deep love for them, along with an aptitude for riding. Her dream is to be able to earn enough money to move south, to the plains and breed horses. Until then though, she works as a stable hand in the castle, tending to the royal steeds and accompanying them on their hunts. Along with riding, she is also quite accomplished with a bow, and at hitting small furry objects at long range. Class: Ranger Class Type: Lydia is stealthy in close, and deadly at distance. She is also fairly adept at picking pockets, and is a natural born climber. In a fight, she goes for speed and misdirection over brute force when up close. Family History (optional): See "Background" Any Other Information: Lydia has a standard recurve hunting bow and a hunting knife as her only weapons currently.

Its night. Your character finds themselves caught between the moment of attack. They were probably getting themselves ready for sleep or doing something at the late night, and they start hearing strange sounds around the keep... Obviously I leave it up to each of you to entertain the rest of us with your writing!

Thanks Mac I really appreciate it. I'm trying my best to improve and strive towards an author level of writing. Sometimes I feel like I'm purple prosing though. I am really trying to lengthen my posts with depth and tension, but without dragging the post out. Funnily enough I wrote a short story (I say short story, it was like 6000 words) for a publishing contest recently. I didn't win and it bummed me out a little, but I read it back to myself and found that it was not very interesting in a few points. So I am really trying to work on that.
