That's really what I meant as far as the storyline and characters, like you say, the gameplay wasn't to innovative I just love the entire feel of the game as far as being swept up in this story that felt almost like I was playing a movie. From what I hear Last Of Us is a great game that feels similar as far as the storyline goes. I like edge of your seat action and storylines that immerse the gamer in the world of the characters and MGS always did it for me. IDK I guess Im just a real sucker for Kojima.
If you haven't played it yet, the Revegeance (however they spell it) game that stars Raiden, while not being a Kojima game, is basically one big tongue-in-cheek self-aware parody of MGS' storytelling and from what I've heard the game play is pretty fun, too. You can also play the mobile games but the game play as actually so awful (at least in Portable Ops) that it actually gets in the way of the rest of the game.
Thanks a lot, I'm also a fan of turn by turn role player games, Fire Emblem being my hands down favorite but I also love Advance Wars which is kind of an underrated franchise imo.
For stealth: Deus Ex Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Thief Thief 2 [don't play the most current one it is awful] Dishonored For characters: Planescape: Torment. Y'all are on a writing forum, PLAY THIS GAME. It is the best written game of all time, and best second person narrative of all time. Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 Dragon Age: Origins Fallout 1 and 2 Fallout: New Vegas Witcher series Telltale Walking Dead games
No, the Undead Parish... But I've only died once there so far! So I guess that's... something... I'm quite busy with life stuff, so my progress in games is super slow. I adore Dark Souls, but I'll probably be playing it for, like, the next two years or something.
Morrowind is on my list to replay as soon as my exams are over. I wish they still made TES games as good as that, i'm sick of the dumbed down RPG's we get today.
Do you like RNG-fest? Do you like having your butt handed over to you like in Dark Souls or any other similar game? Do you like dungeon crawlers? Do you like rogue-like? Do you like Lovecraft? Do you like aesthetically beautiful, hand-drawn graphics? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then... Darkest Dungeon ...is a game for you.
I'm very much into Stardew Valley at the moment, which is reminiscent of the older Harvest Moon titles for the SNES and the Nintendo 64. Its crafting system is pretty similar to Minecraft, in that you have to collect all of the raw materials to make the equipment you'll then make more specialized tools with. (Goodness, I hope that makes sense.) It's a cute little game with pseudo-16 bit graphics and nice music, but be warned: it's one of those games you'll sit down to play and then wonder how you spent the past three hours clearing a virtual field.
If it's anything like FoE, I should stay away from it. I played it once, which lasted for about a few consecutive days. It consumed me whole until the urges of life forced me back to reality leaving me wondering how long I've been out.
Resident Evil is my origin series as a gamer (if you can't tell by my profile picture, haha), But I've been enjoying Dark Souls 3 as of late. Some of my favorite games/series are: Resident Evil (as I said before), Bioshock, Last of Us, Mass Effect, Dark Souls, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Tomb Raider, The Orange Box (Half-life/Portal), I could go on for days... Ha.
I liked Blighttown! But I haven't finished the game yet 'cause I don't have that much freetime, but I think I'm doing okay. I have awesome weapons, nimble build, and I've kicked ass more often than gotten my ass kicked. I'll probably go to Anor Londo next to get some serious weapon upgrades done, or continue scouring Sen's Fortress 'cause there's still a lot to explore. I want to finish this before Dark Souls III anyway, so I'll probably get to play it by the time next Souls-ish game comes out.
Well, there was Bloodborne, so maybe there will be another Soul-ish game released some time in the future? I haven't defeated the Iron Golem yet, so I'm yet to discover the secrets of Anor Londo.
My boyfriend and brother made me play Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3 in exchange for cups of tea - I think they fancied a laugh. They were genuinely surprised when I didn't die straight away, as was I. Still haven't defeated the first boss of Souls 3 though. I just keep my distance, turns out you actually have to be near them to hit them though
So I ended up playing yet another run through the ME triogly. Why do I keep getting sucked back into that game! I have other games to play but nope, Sheperd lures me in like a siren for yet another playthrough. I think it`s the characters and hte dialogue choices that keep from getting stale, same with Biowares DA series. Origins, and Inqustoin I could replay all day. Not so much the second one, not that it wasn`t somewhat enjoyable. I think once I finish ME3 again I`ll take another turn in Skrim. See how long it takes before I get distracted from the main quests again this time.
