He has to concentrate to be able to use it. He can only really fly, attack or create a shield, but he can't do them all at the same time. He can't fly and attack at the same time, though he can hover. As for the flying, his flame wings, basically act like jet engines. But when he's really flying around he can't use his fire attack. And the flame shield takes complete concentration, so he has to stay still while doing it.
