guess that could lead to disappointment when upon reading they turn out to be feathered and tweet lol

King Oaf and his Birds could also be disappointing for different reasons lol The Oaf becomes a Bird is the wrong image as well for even more reasons :)

However I am thinking All About Birds could attract a teen boy audience :) Angus gets his Bird

Makes me think of the song by Thin Lizzy - The Boys are Back in Town (which is also the name of a novel I read not long ago).

Yeah which is all a bit old fashioned - I am quite liking Angus gets a Bird not quite right but going in right direction maybe.

    Douglas Adams

So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish (the fourth book in the Hitch-Hiker trilogy)

It's in a league of its own really, isn't it?

Lord Foul's Bane. Caught my eye years ago, and hooked me into the first trilogy.

There are loads of titles I like (I actually have a list of titles I want to use to title my own writing), but from the books I can see right now on my desk, the one I like most is The Earth Hums in B Flat. The title instantly attracted me, and it's a good book.

How about a lengthy title, like "Angus and Sundry Ornithological Mates Arrive Once Again at the Populated Habitation Known Familiarly as Town." I'd pick it up off the shelf to look if nothing else :)

lol cept that would be my first paragraph in the introductory letter taken up :) It is a very boy title - I think it is what has got me thinking the no books for YA boys. Mine is a seventeen year old boy fantasy story, and really it should appeal. Someone Else's Life is such a girly title.

Maybe -Big blonde fighting teen, has a cute girlfriend with nice breasts, can turn into a bird and saves a nation from destruction.

    Self-explanatory title
    The Bird With Two Backs
To Kill Two Mockingbirds With One Stone Is Better Than Ten In The Forest

Partly because all the fans of the series recognised the phrase from book one, so they immediately got the reference.

Where's this book in the reading order? What's its overarching theme?

complicated lol I have a novella and three or four series lol

Main story arc is Angus goes from smelly ignorant rebellous teenager to king overnight. His father is killed by his sister and his brother abidcates to live with his boyfriend. He meets the weird Abbot and discovers that the nation is corrupt and sections of society have been living in fear of their lives. He learns about the universe being god's body and about the magic on the island. The purest expression of the magic is being able to turn into a bird. He marries his young girlfriend and proves a wise king. His birdform is the Great White Falcon called Mayhem - ooh wonder if Mayhem would be a good title !!

Chronology it is the first in the YA Angus and Beatrice series. Only the novella about Socrates and Nate comes before it.

Cute but he was a Prince - his jeans may have been ripped and smelly but they were designer.

I am liking Mayhem - maybe Mayhem in Feathers - just Mayhem kind of describes the story lol

I think Mayhem sounds very good, especially for a male YA novel. Letting the word stand alone gives it more impact.

Can't find any existing novel with that title either.

By jove I think we have it lol Only taken me a year to find - it was so simple as well Mayhem just describes everything as well as being the bird - it fits with corruption, the whole feeling like everyone has lied to him, being pushed in to getting married at 17 etc Hehe thanks for that - as Hannibal would say, 'I love it when a plan comes together.' It goes well with Dragonfly which is my title for the next one.

I actually love the swedish titles for the Twilight-books by Stephenie Meyer, even though I'm not particularly fond of the story itself.

    If I could dream (Twilight)
When I hear your voice (New Moon)
The sound of your heart (Eclipse)
As long as we both breathe (Breaking Dawn)

The lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
The second book in the Hunger game-series by Suzanne Collins, Catching fire.

And the swedish titles for the Lord of the Rings-series
The Tale of the Ring (Lord of the rings)
The Tale of the Two towers (The two towers)
The Tale of the King's return (Return of the king)

These are the titels I can think of now that I relly like!

As I read this thread I couldn't really think of any titles that I particularly liked but one did come to mind.

The Only Alien on the Planet by Kristen D Randall. Was a good read too. Well I enjoyed it.

This is a song title, not a book title, but it's intriguing:

"Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pict."

It's by Roger Waters, on Pink Floyd's album "Ummagumma".
