    Your Lie in April

Discussion in 'Entertainment' started by Justin Phillips, Apr 12, 2016.

Any anime fans out there that have watched Your Lie in April? It's on Netflix right now. Drags a little, but God, I swear I had no eyeballs left in my head after the final episode. Yes, from crying. Bawling really.

The plot is loosely similar to A Walk to Remember, but different, too. It's not at all a blatant copy, and I actually think the way they do it is more effective and sad. I don't know, it just really hit me, I guess.

The main plot is sad enough, but when you finally find out what her lie in april was, man..... that really got me.

    yeah, I'm a wuss.

Yeah, I loved that show! I don't think it was like "A Walk to Remember" at all though. (It was better! :D)

Yeah, it's just that when I first started it, I thought- ok there's a dying girl who loves life and heals her soul through music. The guy is gonna fall in love with her and have his life changed forever as a result, so it immediately jumped out to me as similar to that other book/movie. But so glad it turned out to be so much more.

Also reminded me a bit of chrono crusade, with the bitter acceptance of one's fate. If you haven't seen that one you should check it out. One of my all time favorites.

I haven't finished it yet, but it's kind of obvious what's going on with the girl. My friend introduced me to it a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying it!

That's probably because I'm a blonde haired violinist who is going to be playing Saint-Saens' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso at a competition in less than two weeks....

yeah, their use of competitions as just a passing plot device is kind of neat.

I don't know if I busted out bawling at the finale because I worked myself up for it, or if it was really that emotional. You'll have to let me know haha.

I do remember in episodes leading up to it, thinking "I'm going to lose it at the finale, I know it." First time was when she asks him for double suicide while at the hospital
