  1. Shoot 'em up

First of all, Clive Owen is AWESOME. He is sexy and a great actor. I went to see this movie with my husband, not sure what to expect, and ended up loving every minute of it. The writing was sharp and funny, and I had a blast watching it. It may not have the best story, but if you just want something to watch that is full of action and cool shoot outs then this is for you. Besides, any movie that has the main character kill 2 people with carrots is frickin awesome! :D
  2. Hi all

:)After all, I set a home here.
English is my second language, so maybe my grammer or sentence sounds a little strange.

But I love to write. I'll try my best to write some good articles here.
  3. The Dogs of War - Frederick Forsyth

Isn't it all a bit funny having a book about staging a coup, with such detail? I mean, it was bad enough with Coup D'Etat: A Practical Handbook, but putting it into stark context is a danger. Anyone with money could take over a country after reading those books - which is a shame, since I only get seventy quid a week personally.

I think there should be a redefinition of statehood, as well as a reworking of democracy.

  6. Driving With a Suspended License, Checks in the Mail, and Other Bad Things.

    Comic Updated!

So, it seems that I have extremely bad luck with checks in the mail. I swear, every time a check is supposed to be mailed to me, something goes awry. The first time I noticed was three years ago when some stupid old man ran a stop sign and t-boned my car, and it took almost six months for me to get the insurance check. I had to call them and have them re-issue it, because they swore to God it was in the mail...

    Earlier...
  7. Strangers in the Night

So, I've been steadily writing this story and it somehow turned into a novel. I didn't really take it seriously since I don't think I'm good enough to be published, but I decided to keep writing it nonetheless. I'm at 40,000 words so far and I'm trying to make it at least 70,000. This book is the first in the trilogy and I'm really have fun writing it. Anyway, I've decided to put it up on deviantart.com if you want to check it out, though I've already posted a few chapters here on the...

  11. Ryboks RatPack (Story)

After a few posts regarding RPG in the chatbox thread in the lounge forum. I have been considering doing a RatPack short. Hmmm

The ideas are there and some of the character Profiles already created could make good charaters. Would anyone mind if I used any of their charater profiles for charaters if I wrotea Ryboks RatPack short.

Would anyone be interested in reading a Ryboks Ratpack if I wrote one?
  12. The beginning of slavery - the end of hope

My country is a memorable place - the only country in the history of the world as well as it is known, to have gained independence in such difficult ways. US is a different story - they were a majority and no partition as such took place. But Pakistan was made with pain and struggle. Not a piece of cake.

And today when I look outside the windows, I sigh out in despair and ask myself - is this the beginning of a new era...of slavery? No, I'm not kidding. It's so true. Look at us. No...
  13. Reviewing

My fello Moderator Cogito thinks that its a skill in itself to review someone elses work.

An idea has popped to mind on this.

For those of you who've just tuned in, here's what it's all about. There has been concern on these boards in recent weeks that the review process on the board isn't all it could be. So, the great experiment is proposed. The intent of this experiment is to provide an opportunity for reviewers to focus their attention on a given story, and for the reviews...
  14. Weekly Lyrical Contest

I have decided that with the popularity of the poetry and short story weekly contests that I will launch a lyrical contest on either a fortnightly basis or a weekly basis. I think that song writing in itself is a talent and would love to see what we can all come up with.

Sometimes we get a load of lyrical posts in a week and sometimes it lays dormant for a week.

So i think it would be good practice on writing skills to launch a lyrical contest.:)
  15. Crazy Week, Crazy Weekend

Well, I've had a very busy week so far - so much so that I've been absent here for a bit. I apologize for that. Between school, work, and other requirements, I've been extremely hard-pressed for time. Tomorrow won't be much better.

    I'm going to have to get up around 6 a.m. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. I'm retaking the ACT (for the third time!). The first time I received a 26 and the second time I got a 27 - I want a 30. I haven't studied a terrible amount, but I've studied some. I'll be studying...
