  1. Big Brother

Getting ready to leave on our trip, I thought it might be prudent to notify VISA of our travel plans., since neither of us had explicitly done so. But when I gave the relevant card information, the computerized voice said, "I see you will be [going overseas] from[date to date]." They must have mined that from the fact that we paid for the tickets through VISA. Still, it's kind of scary that they would assimilate that information. I wonder what else of our activities are being tracked,...
  2. Ruminations on Poverty

There is a three years waiting period for public housing in the United States. How the hell would someone know that they are going to be dirt poor in three years? Isn't poverty something that you're supposed to work your way out of? No, it's a way of life, an excuse to sit and do nothing and have the government supervising you to make sure that you're doing nothing. Let's just get rid of the social services and let everyone get back to their lives.
Every once in a while I feel the need to...

  4. snap chat has been hacked

Not that anyone on here has me as a "friend" on the app just a warning, my snapchat was hacked last night by someone hacking my family member first, they asked for a favor, and the favor was if they could use my login information to see if something was wrong with their account, not so weird coming from family so i fucken gave them my info and went on facebook and to my horror i saw my family member's post about being hacked, so i quickly called her up and sure enough it was too late! They...
  5. Morning walk

I woke up early today, and decided to take the dog for a longish walk. I was tired with the same route I always took, so I treated myself with a little bit of exploration. The early morning calm reminded me how lucky I am to live in North America. The winters linger too long, and the cold becomes depressing, but it's all worth it when you're treated with perfect mornings like today's. Not too hot. Not too cold. Blue skies and fresh air.

A diverse cast of trees and wildlife were present as...
  6. ok...

    10:47pm

Yeah okay, Today was a pretty good day I must say, on the verge of 28 I realized my right boob is smaller than the left.
It's okay though because Christine the sales lady said they still look good.. Winning.
  7. Ideas for writing

I first had ideas for stories not writing. Like many others it was my children that inspired me to create stories, although I am not blaming them ofcourse. These were made up stories on the spot that were never recorded. I did try and write some of the stories the next day or the next week on a few occasions but the magic that came from spontaneity had gone. It was alot to do with the interaction between me and the kids and writing it was just not the same. So I figured writing just did not...
  8. First writing contest entry!

Posted my first short story contest submission recently!

This is the first time I have ever submitted and form of fictional writing since school!

I saved the contest prompt in a screenshot, cropped it and imported it to my blank, open word document.
I started typing. Luckily I can touch type so I maintained focus on the prompt rather than the formatting. That could be fixed up later during the proofread. Everything felt good, for a while.

The anxiety started to creep. I started editing...
  9. a-1

I just had a feeling of de ja vu, along side actual premonition that came true. I knew I was reliving some event that had already occurred. I knew what would happen next, and I didn't feel like I could change it. I watched as it occurred, the exact same way, with the exact same person, saying the exact same thing. It filled me with dread. That experience is enough to drive a person insane, and I feel like it knocked me a little closer to the edge.

On a side note, don't you hate being...
  10. Let’s Talk About The Person In Your Brain

Before I go to bed, I always take a minute to think the Lord for the day.

No matter what kind of day it was, I am always thankful to have lived it and when I rise in the morning with my arms stretched to the ceiling, I thank him again.

The reason for this is quite simple, inside my head there’s a person. Now, I’m not crazy and I’m far from it! But there’s a person inside my head that whispers awful things to me.

It’s hard trying to live a positive life, when there is a raspy, cynical...
  11. Still More From the North Shore

Sitting on our 2d floor balcony, looking out at the tranquil blue of Lake Superior and the paler blue, cloud streaked, sky that sits above it, the "happy trees" reminding me of that guy who used to have the painting show. This morning we took a drive up a two-lane highway known as "Gunflint Trail," which wound its way into the nearby national forest. Pleasant drive, but we hoped to see a moose or two, even walked up to viewing station, but none showed up. Still, we had the trees and...
  12. On the Road Again

Yesterday I wondered if a trip that began with me losing my car keys could get more interesting. It learned it could. Turned out that the roof rack bars I had installed to carry my son's walker were spaced too far apart, so I had to re-arrange the packing to make it fit inside, which singularly unimpressed my wife since the whole purpose of buying the racks was to carry the walker.

But we finally got going, on our annual pilgrimage to the Lake Superior North Shore, in a rented condo. I...
  13. DUDE

    8:24

Current situation is watching 90 Day Fiance with the bong on the end table, I feel like it's too far away, like these are the times to have extra arms.
Anyway, so 90 days is not enough time to be engaged to someone, like maybe from the same country because you guys are already use to the ways of your own land.
I try to imagine what it would be like if I went on , haha, could you imagine? I wonder what nationality i'd be paired up with.. hopefully an English dude, I...
  14. Stan Lee Ran Away with a Beautiful Woman from Hanoi

It isn't a conspiracy. I saw it with my own two eyes. Or actually one eye, since I'm blind in one eye.

Stan Lee came into our establishment today (I wasn't working, but in the cafe reading) and he sat down with a beautiful woman from Hanoi, having ordered himself a coffee and an overpriced fruity drink for her.

It's on the tip of my tongue... whatever you call it when you get a beautiful lady from another country, bring them back state-side and marry them. Mail-order bride? I have to give...
