just a glimpse into my experience using and constructing a dreamachine

So yeah, I suppose I’ve been away
I guess there’s just not much to say
I could say hello, how’s it going guys?
I could tell you just how high we’re gonna fly
things will be great, just you wait and see
these things I promise, revolutionary
oh boy oh man oh that’s cool
i bet you’ll fail, you tool, you fool.

but guys here’s the thing, here are the facts
sometimes things are harder to put into act
my body writhes - my mind’s mind - still free
beaten, broken, a mental prison, a lost key
now here’s the thing, you can't see,
I’m meant to be on my feet, pursuing my natural-born destiny
greatness comes to the great - the second best, who’s that?
ideas are naught but any man seeing in a cave;
without what I’m missing, I can't be saved.

the thing is this, no, listen up:
I don’t want to make another promise I can’t keep,
the price of a promise that’s steeper than steep.
each flak and flounder erodes your credibility
it breaks and dismantles everything you could be
loss of faith, good friends, it’s not sour, it’s soured
is it the promise or the expectation that’s eroded my willpower?
innovation only innovates
when it's always on the front line
you snooze, you lose
back of the line! Back on the line.

Hear you hear you, open your mind
don’t say fine, just be divine
open your nature, free-flow free will
you don’t have to push the boulder up the hill-less hill.
Oh you Sisyphus, you loved to roll boulders
but now your strangeness is buried deep within your shoulders
Oh you Atlas, where hast thou conviction gone?
Where does your vision reside?
What happened to your alchemy that promised us long life?
Can’t you turn atoms into gold?
Are you King Midas no longer?
It used to be challenge made you stronger.

Is it the fog, — er, cloud that’s masked your mind?
One thing I know - seek truth, and truth you’ll find.

Okay, just one thing more, one final lesson:
practice what you preach, or don’t preach at all
a hollow promise would proclaim, this fall!
but maybe it’ll be next June or not at all
the new iteration’s gonna rock ‘em all.

don’t listen to my words, watch me speak
when I speak you’ll see with your own eye balls
how manifest’s manifest is manifested
let’s not brainstorm, there’s no need for discussion
dictate yourself, make the world great

I made it two assorted bullet points down my list today
smiley face, smiley face
an armchair revolutionary resists this way

for people like me, structure’s the devil
organization and order, they dishevel
when you put play dough in the oven, yea, you’ll sure get a result
but it’s not the kind you can mould
not the kind the world will need when it gets old

now I know my rhymes suck when they’re not rap songs
and I know I can’t freestyle worth two dumpster dumps
but if I could free think a monument to the struggle, this might be it

if I could only be free, I know I’ll change the world
if I could only breathe, I wouldn’t feel so old
but the shackles of social, I mean student debt
and workplace wage slavery,
have sucked the solar fuel from my core.
My Dyson Sphere fractured some time ago

it’s a tragedy when your limitless creativity runs dry
Tragic like the Hindenburg attempting to sky
yes I say sky, you sure as flight can't fly
you better try
because as we know, sure as fuck we all die

now eject the structure, explode the star,
starstuff can’t start to evolve into intelligence until it’s stuff of stars after all

god damn it, I’m rambling again

I wish I could design the perfect mixed metaphor

imagine a fuel source that could end world poverty
that’s what I lost
and people like me need this new world jet fuel just to stay alive
so I turn to musings, I’m a writer again.
and I’ve got a psychedelic journey marked on my calendar.
yes I see the irony,
but I promise it’s okay this time
one thing you need to understand - your relationship with money

one day soon, you’ll be reborn, so smile kid
don’t writher or wither to far away
they say it takes 98% failure before a real success
so bet your best and never rest
your second best isn't less nor a trial run
you might have ninety-nine before success turns one

head your chakras, even if you don't know what that is
what fuels you, where’s your f-l-o-(w)?
never forget the left path
it’s who you are

now do yourself a favor, you don’t need to breathe
swim in water like falling leaves
and when you cleave and make your way out west
live life like a phoenix - take your second first breath
