The Fall

  1. Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die! Your eyes
will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.'
woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for the wisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.

My question is what is this tree exactly? the tree of knowledge, knowing good from evil. Why doesn't God want Adam and Eve to eat from it?
And what is wrong with noticing you are naked?

This is such a huge story for Christians and maybe everyone I suspect. I really want to understand it. I want to grow in wisdom. Am I just as bad as Adam and Eve? My thirst for wisdom?
And how about the nature of Satan in this story. isn't that typical. he knows how to package sin to make it look all above aboard and highly credible.
Im going to read this story every day this week.

Maybe God did want them to eat from it.

Maybe exercising free will and defying God was the test they had to pass to escape the Garden Of Eden, by proving they were more than mere beasts.

Because there are no interesting stories to write in Eden.

Feminists may not like this story. Well I mean the woman was the first to be tempted. I don't blame women for anything do I? Guess I wanted Mum to be more assertive. But that was for her sake too. I blame myself for being sexually attracted to women who were least suited to my personality. Fortunately I found the right one to marry.
Women do rely on men for leadership, good leadership. Well in a good relationship, leadership is shared I know. But maybe women look to men for moral guidance? Or am I starting to sound too sexist? :)
