I'm 35 years old and have lived my whole life in Massachusetts, although I have have traveled. I have spent all of my adult life working in the Mental health field. When I was a kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I usually said a writer. I would even write little books by stapling paper between two pieces of cardboard and filling them with some overly simplistic story. At 31 I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and ended up out of work for sometime. I returned to work and continued to leave my dream of writing in the background. I am now on my second recurrence and I'm temporarily out of work again. I've come to the realization this time that I can't put my attempts to write off any longer. I always thought I'd get to it in the future, but now I many be living my future.
