Despite the fact I'm the only odd one out in this matter, I'll still wish you all a happy and delightful Eid and a prayer of success and serenity for us all. For those who don't get it, Eid-ul-Fitr is an occasion Muslims celebrate after a month of fasting, as a thanksgiving and a celebration of joy. Girls and boys alike dress beautifully, here in Pakistan girl usually wear bangles, put on henna, and wear traditional clothing. Men wear well sewn kurta shalwar and try to look smart. Relatives and friend meet up eachother on this occasion, lasting three days. The more improtant is about charity - so that the poor can dress up beautifully and rejoice as well. In brief, I'm REALLY excited today and am ready to go to my maternal uncles' house. I can't wait to get my Eidee - like a gift, like one on Christmas. I'm the youngest so I don't have to give any. EID MUBARAK!!!
Well I don't really know much about this tradition anthraxx but happy Eid-ul-Fitr to you. I hope that you have a really wonderful day And if you are all dressed up you should take a photo and post it so we can see how beautiful you look Well have a lovely day sweety! big hugs Torana
well i hope you have a good day, and the day sounds very interesting. i have never heard about it before to be honest but it sounds cool. and i bet you look stunning Heather
I think I have heard something similar but overall, I do wish you a happy day! or at least hope it was a good one... have fun!
When I was 14, one of my closest friends was a muslim and she invited me to this end of ramadan celebration and I must say it was so much better than christmas lol. She wore this beautiful tradition dress, it was yellow and gold and her hair was all neatly done up and she wore bangles and she generally looked lovely (as did her Mother and sisters whom dressed up also). Technically I was only a part of the pre-celebration during the day because the real celebration was going to happen at night and I wanted to be respectful and not impose (as evidently I'm not a Muslim), but either way, it still rocked. And I must say, man can her Mother cook! So yeah, I suppose it's a round-about-way of saying I'm somewhat familar with what you're talking about and Eid-ul-fitr to you! (sorry if belated ><)
Good to know someone knows about it Yeah that's pretty much how we dress up. It's encouraged highly to dress up nicely on this festival. And yeah it's belated but thansk anyways
It's a month prior to Eid in which we fast, from sunrise to sunset, and do many other religious activities since this month is blessed and Satan is caged.
owww kewl. i tihnk they do that in Oman too, my mates dad who is there with the army had to fast with them. are you allowed to eat after sunset though??
oow ok. i was gunna say, starving yourself is a bit harsh i wuld struggle me like, i love my food. koodoes to ya for doing it though
Haha My friend's Father loses 10 kilos everytime Ramadan comes around, she refers to it as the month where her Father's workpants really do require a belt.
