You had come from Earth, you were rounded up for one or two reasons. You had the intelligence enough to study alien subjects. You had the toughness enough to make sure no aliens got out of hand. You couldn't complain about the work though. It was better working on the nameless planet, numbered: 1089270, then to work on a named planet called the Runa where an alien suppression war was happening. At least you would be able to go on the surface for an hour and stare at once may have been a planet full of life. It was called the Black Desert planet. You trudge along this planet with either your duty to protect or your duty to study. The duty to study the aliens of this planet, whom the military operations gladly brought into your science offices. You wake up one day as any other day, though inside the building is a lot warmer then it should be. You think nothing of it until you feel the rumbled, the blasted heat of the explosion, and the awkward darkness. When you wake up surprisingly the lights are on still, all though debris is all over the ground, you stare at a card on your chest its your ID card. ID Card [Serves are your character profile]: ID Class: [Scientist or guard] Name: Age: Gender: Sign: [Scorpio, Virgo, Aries, etc.] Eye color: Hair color: Height: Weight: If Military card Rank:[Kernel, general, etc.] Military operations: [Time guard, scientist protection officer, etc.] If Scientist card Major: [Biology, etc] Science operations: [Species recognition, species growth recorder, etc.] Military Operations: You are Part of the D.A.U.I. or the Defense Against Unknown Intelligence. Your job is simple protect the environment, protect the scientist, and protect yourself. You really have no clue what the scientist hold in the facilities, the scientist kind of keep it a secret from you. But that doesn't stop you from putting your boot in the corner of their doors now and then. Time Guard: Time Guards jobs were to watch the clocks, they told you when to get up and when to go to bed. They told you when you had been on the planets surface for to long. In Combat: Time Guards are fast, they fight quick and deadly hand to hand combat somewhat like assassin moves. They carry light weapons around like a handgun. And because they have worked around computers manipulating time, as some call it, they are good little hackers. Scientist Protection Officer: Your job was to protect one scientist, follow that scientist, and keep an eye on that one scientist. Problem was you didn't have your eye on them all the time. The scientist disappeared into their little labyrinth of work facilities and you were suppose to wait at the door until that scientist came out. In Combat: Not as quick as the Time Guards your hand to hand combat style is more of a brawler or street fighter. You carry far more heavier weapons then the Time Guards a sniper rifle or assault rifle at the most. As a S.P.O you have a natural talent for spotting out the enemy. Facility Officers:Your job was a little different you protected the labyrinth facilities. You protected the base, not the scientist. The base was your home as you got comfortable for what. The scientist had set your post to protect them from something getting out. To bad you don't know what was in the facility to know what you were dealing with. In Combat: Far slower then any Time Guard or S.P.O you use a combination of powerful Judo moves and deadly fast heavy striking martial arts[to give a little speed]. You hold the heaviest weapons a rocket launcher or a shotgun[not exactly heavy, but its in your face bad a$@ery] Scientist Operations: Your part of the project of experiment on unknown intelligence. This allowed you to get close to natural alien species. Your main concern was the public to find out about this so naturally you kept it a secret from the military that was guarding your little safe house. Species Recognition a.k.a The Creator: Your job was to be able to recognize any new species lurking out on the surface of the planet. Or in the floors of the facility. Make sure non of the buggers got in and if they did, it was simple you had to report it to the military. But your job was to keep the military from having the experiment reach Earth's ears. And that is why the base was so notorious it was you who had the military men disappear from the facility. That was your job. The dirty scientist. Of course it wasn't all leg work, they had you sit down and record the new species even give the new species names. In Combat: Your job was to find new species on the planets surface or even in the facility itself. That means you would have to manipulate time yourself. Truly you were suppose to be on the planet's surface for any hour the Time Guards made sure of that. But what if you restarted your hour every time. You can use the systems to make little holograms of yourself, and you can use the systems to change as well. A sleepy Time Guard would never notice. A Facility man notice the odd site, but when you brought him outside he wouldn't survive. You are a sneak, a manipulator, and a true hacker. Species Growth Recorder a.k.a The Family Man: Your job was simple make love. Well not you specifically that would be just inappropriate for work. The species that came into your facilities would make love. You notice this is a female of this species and this is a male of the same species bring them together and let them make babies. Of course you would have to record this data as well. Your job was a dangerous job, and that is why usually most of S.P.O workers were your guards. In Combat: You're not much of a fighter. You can recognize data far better then anyone else though. Since you are a recorder you have to memorize lots of data and numbers. Your many is quite something. You also have the ability to recognize species in combat, this kind of gives your teammates an idea of what they are against. Since it was you who spent the most time with these creatures. You are their family man. Cellular Scientist a.k.a Electric Man: Fancy name you got there, but don't get to happy. All you are is just the electrician of the facility. You give them light and you work underground working on the generators cellular energy control. Yes, luckily some of you survived when the generator you were suppose to give maintence to blew up. Last time you checked on it, there was nothing wrong. In Combat: Your profession becomes your savior. See a dark corner, see an electric box, bring light to that hallway. You are the Electric Man. Alien Races: Your enemies. Well they use to be your test subjects, but I don't think they are very happy with you. Races Pt 1 Races Pt 2
All right people, I just have to get this out of my system. I only want at least 3 S.P.O At least, there can be a 4th one if you just have to be S.P.O Now the 3 characters that need to have S.P.O's are: [The Two characters Reese and Stewart are mine...Edgar is not mine I will need someone to be Edgar and yes he is an important character] ID Card Name: Reese Maris[pronounced: Mar-is] Age: 29 Gender: Male Sign: Scorpio Eye Color: Silver Hair Color: Black Height: 5'6" Weight: 117 lb Major: Biology Science Operations: Chief Scientist [As you have realized Chief Scientist isn't any of those 3 up there, but Reese is the one who has created this program, the facility, he is basically your boss] ID Card Name: Stewart J. Hughes Age: 23 Gender: Male Sign: Virgo Eye Color: Turquoise Hair Color: Light Brown Height: 5' Weight: 98lb Major: Biology, Chemistry Science Operation: SGR[Species Growth Recorder] [Despite being an SGR, if anything had ever happened to Reese Stewart was suppose to be the new command. So he is second in command] ID Card Name: Edgar Glaze Age: 37 Gender: Male Sign: Aries Eye Color: [Whomever controls him chooses] Hair Color: [Whomever controls him chooses] Height: [Whomever controls him chooses] Weight: [Whomever controls him chooses] Major: Physics Science Operation: Chief Cellular Science, The Ghost Man [That's right for whomever controls Edgar is the chief of the generator facility and your the man responsible for making those military men who found the secrets of the facility, just disappear. You are the secret ghost man. Additional Information: Edgar wears glasses and for the most part is a coward. Especially when it comes down to Reese. Since Reese is the one who controls his pay roll. He's actually afraid of meeting up with Reese after the generator exploding. He knows what Reese will do to him. Especially since he made to mistakes, no maintenance on the generator and now the military personal on in on their little secret of the facility.]
Name - Walter Johnson Age - 23 Gender - Male Sign - Leo Eye Colour - Hazel Hair Colour - Dark Brown Height - 5'10" Weight - 198 lbs. Rank - Private [Can I be a private?] Position - Facility Officer Is it all right?
ID Class: Guard Name: Isay Nortov Age: 37 Gender: Male Sign: Leo Eye color: Gray Hair color: Graying-brown Height: 5’11 Weight: 200 pounds Rank: Brigadier General Military operations: Scientist Protection Officer Was assigned to Reese Maris when he just joined the program, and has grown in rank as Maris did. He is currently a Brigadier General, making him one of the higher ranked military personnel in the facility, although he does little besides following Maris around. Neither a brilliant tactician nor an expert marksman, his wit and overall intelligence still makes him one of Earth’s finest.
I think I will step up to the challenge of Edgar then. Name: Edgar Glaze Age: 37 Gender: Male Sign: Aries Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Medium length, blonde Height: 5ft9 Weight: 12 stone Major: Physics Science Operation: Chief Cellular Science, The Ghost Man Edgar is the chief of the generator facility, responsible for making military personal who find out to much disapear. Additional Information: Edgar wears glasses and for the most part is a coward. Especially when it comes down to Reese. Since Reese is the one who controls his pay roll. He's actually afraid of meeting up with Reese after the generator exploding. He knows what Reese will do to him. Especially since he made to mistakes, no maintenance on the generator and now the military personal on in on their little secret of the facility.
Name: Marcellus Griffin Age: 24 Gender: m Sign: taurus Eye color: light brown Hair color: black... fade Height: 6'1 Weight: 177 lbs. If Military card Rank: Sgt. Military operations: facility officer nonchalant... man of action... in a disagreement, sees arguments as a waste of time... gets along well with all his co-workers, or at least maintains professional courtesy... somewhat bored with his job, as he is rarely needed...
I'll try my best . . . ID Class: Scientist Name: Keira Holmes Age: 25 Gender: Female Sign: Leo Eye color: Blue Hair color: Brown Height: 5'6" Weight: 115 lbs. Major: Biology Science operations: Species Recognition
ID Class: Guard Name: Anna Heron Age: 24 Gender: Female Sign: Scorpio Eye color: emerald green Hair color: dark brown, almost black, with red highlights Height: 5'4" Weight: 101 Rank: Captain Military operations: Scientist Protection Officer Stewart's S.P.O.
ID Class: Guard Name: Victor "Night Train" Trane Age: 25 Gender: Male Sign: Taurus Eye color: Brown, typically wears NV goggles or gas mask Hair color: Black, dreadlocks Height: 6'2" Weight: 175 lbs Rank: recently demoted to Private Military operations: Edgar's SPO, formerly a sniper Additional Info: Vic was a high-ranking facility officer, valued for his skills with a sniper rifle and his ability to guard one portion of the base for days on end, without growing bored or impatient. Unfortunately, his disregard for the position finally got him demoted to Private and his postition switched to scientist protection. At least they let him keep his gun.... Can usually be found rolling and smoking any number of "medicinal herbs" obtained from his friends in the biology sector. Is good at his job, when he actually does it. Is really laid back and mellow; doesn't give a **** about anything.
ID Class: time guard Name: Ara Shade Age: 22 Gender: female Sign: Capricorn Eye teal Hair dirty blonde Height:6 ft Weight:75 kgs Rank: private Military operations: protection officer Additional information: very organised however quiet and seems to lack in social skills. She is quiet to a point where a stutter has formed when she speaks with others. However that seems only part of her personality as Ara is highly protective and believes strongly in her duties.
ID Class: Scientist Name: Andrew K. Vosjr (Pronounced - voss-yer) Age: 34 Gender: Male Sign: Virgo Eye color: Green Hair color: Dark brown Height: 5' 9" Weight: 158 Major: Electrical Engineering, Biochemistry Science operations: Cellular Scientist Additional Information: Andrew was chosen to join an elite group of scientists at a prominent test facility. He was straight from acquiring his second major in Electrical Engineering and he was rusty in the field of Biochemistry, but seeing his potential he was asked to work on creating the main generator for the facility on the planet #1089270, A.K.A The Black Desert. After completion of the generator Andrew stayed to keep it in top shape, but as the years passes his department became lazy, resulting in the explosion that rocked the facility and would change the way it's inhabitants lived.
ID Class: Scientist Name: Max Remler Age: 35 Gender: Male Sign: Max believes that astrology is crap. Eye color: Brown Hair color: Black Height: 5/5" Weight: 140 lb Major: Computer Science / Astrobiology Double Major. Science operations: Species recognition Additional Information: Max has a reputation for being arrogant and unlikeable. His social skills are...lacking, he is physically inept, and probably would shoot himself in the foot if he ever had to use a gun. Despite these problems, Max has quickly risen as a man with a bright future in the Facility. His massive intelligence and capabilities in both hacking and specialization in the new field of 'astrobiology' made him a prime choice for the most advanced and important missions. That, and his amazing ability to kiss up to his superiors while demeaning them behind their backs. Despite his lack of physical skills, his mental prowess and sheer cunning mean that he can win fights without a single shot being fired...for the most part. A Final Note: Astrobiology IS a real science. You can look it up. And if this is a future scenario where areas exist, I would expect it to proceed from a simple specialization within Biology to its own field? Makes sense to me. In any case, I'm willing to change that and anything else should our kind GM see fit :3
Alright I'll try this...see how I do ID Class: Guard Name: Jena Telcom Age: 23 Gender: Female Sign: Aquarius Eye color: Green Hair Color: Dark Brown (wavy) Height: 5' 6'' Weight: 121lbs Rank: Private Military Operations: Time Guard. Additional information: Jena is witty and can be charming, but is also very harsh and unemontional, on the outside. Inside she is a very different person, but she views herself as weak and hides behind the harsh facade.
ID Card ID Class: Time Guard Name: Donovan Shoval Age:26 Gender:Male Sign: Gemini Eye color: Brown Hair color: Black Height:6'0 Weight:210 Rank: Sgt. First Class Military operations:Time Guard Hot shot got promoted quickly and achieved a high rank in short order. That same hot shot atttitude stalled him in ranks and eventual led him to being busted down to a Sgt. First Class. He came to this far away place to make a new start and begin moving up the chain of command once more.
The facility shook like crazy. At first no one thought of anything. Then the blinding light of fire, and the rushing sound of really hot air came passing. Everyone was left in a state of death or unconsciousness. When you awoke you realized you were with the people you last talked to: Group 1-Leaka and Fantasywriter: Reese Maris- The Scientific Boss Keira Holmes- Species Recognition Keira wanted to show Reese something so she had him follow him into the experiment rooms. Leaving his S.P.O stranded outside a usually common things with S.P.Os. You are in the experiment halls, or what is left of the experiments in the hall. Group 2-Mike Nemesis and TwinPanther13: Edgar Glaze- The Ghost Electric Man Donovan Shoval- Time Guard Donovan was having some problems with the computers. Earlier before the generation expolsion it appeared as the generator wasn't giving enough juice to the computer he was using. He went to grab Edgar to help with this problem. They were both in the steel box when the generator blew up. Group 3 Noodleguy and TriggerHippie: Andrew K. Vosjr- Cellular Scientist Max Remler- Species Recognition Andrew was also having computer problems, though in his office. He called over Max as the next big thing for him, since Edgar was already working with Donovan. Max was able to fix the issue it took him a while. Andrew and Max were heading out of Andrew's office when the generator exploded. Andrew was in the doorway and Max was slightly more in the hallway. Group 4 Gloom Kitty and Yellowm&M: Jena Telcom- Time Guard Ara Shade- Time Guard Both ladies were having a bit of a break in the afternoon. They gave their shift to Donovan since today was so lax. Jen and Ara were in the cafeteria when the generator exploded. Group 5 Anonymouse, SPRB_Skrrblz, Guybrush Threepwood: Walter Johnson- Facility Officer Marcellus Griffin-Facility Officer Victor Trane- S.P.O Victor was a little upset when he came to Edgar's office down in the generator cells. The underground of the facility. Edgar left no note once again. He just left. He had walked over to Walter and asked him where Edgar was. Walter was explaining he had gotten a call from Donovan about something. Griffin came in to tell the complete story. They were closest to the generator when it exploded how they survived was unknown to them. Group 6 Leaka, Common Goods, and Kitbug: Stewart Hughes- Species Growth Recorder [SPR] Isay Nortov- S.P.O Anna Heron-S.P.O Stewart was doing his folder rounds going in and out of the experiment rooms and hallways back to the main lobby of the place. The next set of folders he had maybe he shouldn't have grabbed there were so many folders that he was having trouble caring them to the experiment hallways. Isay had noticed his entering in and out and noticed the larger amount of folders. Isay offered helped Stewart was trying to decline and keep balance of the folders. Then the generator exploded. * * * Act 1 First Rounds Your Goals: Your main goal is to survive Your other goals are: To go through the ruin city to join up or find everyone else In this Act: You should encounter at least one alien in your small group Interact with each other Scientist should explain to the military people what is going on
Reese slid his hand across the hallway floor. What had happened? He was still recovering from the shock of what had just happened he was trying to gain his bearings. He moved his arm in a certain position and a slight pinch of pain crippled his arm a bit. Reese fought through it though and got up. He realized he was still in the hallways and looked around the place. Some fires, some sparks, melting wallpaper, and broken pieces of floor. Reese thought about, that was right Keira wanted something from him now where was Keira. Whatever, if she were alive she'd find him. He somehow knew what had happened and this was Edgar's fault. And when Reese found him, Reese would teach him a few things. * * * Stewart woke up a little dazed and wuzzy. The folders, the folders, he had to quickly go back to work. When he got up fire and destruction registered in his head, that was right an explosion of some sort. Was everyone all right? He went towards the door, blocked by rubble how would he know if everyone in there was all right. He saw a hand whose was in the main lobby hallway with him. That's right Isay. Isay was trying to help with the folders. What should he do? What should he do? He didn't want to hurt Isay if Isay was already hurt, but he needed to know if Isay were alive. He bent over and grabbed the wrist of the hand. He felt a pulse, but he noticed blood. It wasn't Isay's blood he noticed. It was his own. It was dripping onto Isay. Stewart moved quickly, where was he bleeding. He checked everywhere and felt his forehead. It was his head, his head was bleeding. How?
OOC:: Ooh, this is gonna be good! Keira stirred, groaning. Her vision began to focus, and she groggily sat up, but not without effort. Every muscle, every bone in her body ached - throbbing pain that never seemed to fade. She was cut and bruised, but nothing more. Thankfully she hadn't been seriously injured. After a few moments, Keira finally had the strength to stand up, and she did so, wincing as she did so. Looking about, Keira saw Reese a ways away, standing there. He, apparently, had only just recovered as well. What in god's name had happened? Only a while ago she had been standing in the hallways with Reese, about to show him something, when the entire facility shook. Obviously Keira had been knocked out, for she had no recollection of what had happened at all after that. "Maris, is that you?" she called, her vision still foggy. She couldn't be certain if this figure was truly Reese. He could be an alien, or something else . . . "Maris, damn it, answer me!" He, or whoever else it may be, had other things on his mind, apparently, for he didn't at first answer. Keira waited for his reply rather impatiently, arms folded across her chest.
Edgar woke grogilly his ears were ringing and his head hurt. He'd obviously hit the floor hard. What had happened? He rolled over and looked at his time guard who was still unconscious. Slowly he got to hit feet using one hand to push him up supporting his weight. He blinked his eyes rapidly waiting for the clarity of his vision to return. His green eyes darted around the room trying to force them to properly adjust, he wasn't completly with it. He kicked his guard in the chest trying to coach him to get up. "Something's going on, your meant to protect me." His mind cycled through explanations of what could be the cause of the events. The room was dark, there had been an explosion the effects had given him a ringing headache to remind him of that. "****!!!" He swore loudly as he came to the conclusion. He'd followed the god dam maintanence schedule, everything had been fine about from a few power hiccups he was looking into reported today. Reese was going to kill him. What was he going to do. The generator was his responsibility he'd be crucified for this he didn't even know the extent of the damage but it didn't seem promising. He might even be responsible for some loss of life... "****!" he yelled as he lashed out at one of the walls kicking his boot into the wall and then yelping, falling backwards as he twisted his ankle. This wasn't his day.
Jena slowly opened her eyes. she could feel something resting on her head, instictively she shook her head to get it off, but the action made her head hurt. "oww." she murmmured trying to reach her head, but her hand was trapped beneath some debris. she opened her eyes wider, trying to asses her situation. After a few minutes she was able to pull her arms free from the debris and stand up. Immediatley she reached up to her head, standing had sent it throbbing again. She closed her eyes, trying to remember what had happened. Suddenly it all came back, she had been sitting in the cafeteria having a drink when the explostion happened. oh, and Ara had been sitting at the same table, where was she?
Vic awoke to find himself slumped against the wall in a seated position. It was dark; the few lights still functioning were flickering on and off. The air was filled with smoke, but he didn't know what to make of that... there was always smoke when he was around. Without standing, he lazily took a look about himself, making sure his vitals were still intact. My guts and s*** ain't hangin' out, he thought, I'm straight. True; he was unharmed, but confused as hell. Worst of all, he didn't have anything to smoke. The haze in the air wasn't his, so there could only be one other explanation: fire. "Awww d***, somebody then f***** up," he said, getting to his feet. "Ay!! Where ya'll at!!?" he called into the darkened hallway as he stood up. It was all coming back to him now... He remembered Edgar being away from his office AGAIN. He remembered coming down here to look for that bastard and running into two other dudes. He remembered them talking to him about something. And talking, and talking, and talking.... The last thing he remembered was when he said "f*** it," and walked out on 'em, going into the hall to light up. Vic picked up his rifle and began scouring the halls in search of his lost blunt. He had a pocket-full of smokeworthy herbs, but he didn't like to let anything go to waste. Those other two dudes -- wherever they are -- can wait.
Marcellus woke up lying on his stomach. Last thing he knew, he was trying to explain what really went down. Now, he's picking himself up from the ground. Explosion? The fire would suggest yes. And the smoke. He stayed low to the ground, crawling as he sought out his colleagues to check vitals if they were unconscious. Why he had to explain Edgar and Donovan's mishaps, he had no clue. It wasn't in his job description, although that was the most work he had since being assigned to the project. He was dying for some action, and now he might actually die for some action. He coughed the smoke out of his lungs, crawling gingerly as his body was throbbing. He must have smacked into something. His head was clear, but the rest of his body would be sluggish for a while. He heard Vic's voice asking where he was. "OVER HERE!!! YOU HURT?!?!?"
The ringing in his ears woke Andrew from his state of unconsciousness. He stood up to find the hall in a state of disarray. Andrew stood to gain his bearings, Where am I? He thought as he peered through the haze of smoke and debris. Still lit papers floated past his face and the smell of burning plaster caused Andrew to fall to his knees in a fit of gasping coughs as he breathed in the unclean air. Max was lying unconscious on the floor, he seemed alright. Andrew crawled over to Max's side and shook him gently, "Wake up!" he shouted, but Max just laid there. Andrew leaned over Max's body as he contemplated the situation. It smells funny, and the air is thick. We need to move, if the generator exploded then there will be negative affects to our bodies. Andrew raised his shirt to his mouth and began to slow his breathing.
Anna slowly stirred to consciousness, the world fuzzy and spinning around her. She sat up, and almost regretted it at once. Forcing herself not to lose her lunch she peered into the darkness, trying to see through the fog in her vision. Somewhere several yards away she could make out a figure. Stewart? She lurched to her feet, stumbling towards the figure, then fell on the floor next to him, waves of nausea flooding over her. Alien? She couldn't tell--her vision was still too clouded, though she didn't much care. The way she was feeling she would almost imbrace death. From her position on the floor she reached up and caught the arm. He turned towards her, and she saw that it was indeed Stewart. She breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that she would rather not lose her life just yet. "Are you all right?" she asked, swallowing and pinching her eyes tight shut as she tried to quell the rolling of her stomach, her hands still latched around his arm.
Hearing no answer from Vic, he made a beeline towards the door. It was open, so he snatched a shotgun and stuffed ammunition everywhere he could possibly hold it. He was ready for war if necessary. It's very possible he might need it, after all, it was like Fort Knox up there. What the Hell could have made it through? He makes it out to the hall with a cocked shotgun, only to see Vic crouched down, paying particularly close attention to the floor. He was almost scaling the walls. "Vic, what the f*ck?"
