Andrew accepted the small handgun and put his ballpoint pen back in his pocket. Andrew noticed the safety was still on, but he left it that way. He feared that the gun would accidentally fire and shoot his foot off.

"Thank you." Andrew smiled at Donovan and noticed his quick glance at Reese. Hmm Andrew thought conspiratorially.

Keira had been following the others in silence, listening to their conversations, not asking questions. Over the past few hours, she had learned to listen. It was probably best not knowing what was going on. She limped along without knowing where they were going or why.

When Reese mentioned something about healing, Keira immediately thought of her leg. Could it really be healed? Oh, how it had been pestering her lately. After the healing was over with, her leg still wasn't in perfect condition, but it would have to do. It still ached terribly, but at least she could walk now.

Like the others, Keira picked out a different gun; a pistol hadn't worked out for her too well against the aliens previously. Then she thought it best to ask questions. "Where are we headed next?"

Jena walked to her locker and pulled it open. She had very little in it, only another handgun and lots of amo. She grabbed it all, and the small knife that she always kept with her since she was 20. Then she pulled the hairband from her wrist and pulled her long, dark brown hair into a ponytail, sweeping her bangs back from her face. She stood back against the wall letting people use the med box, she was one of the people least injured. As she waited for the chance to heal her hand, she closed her eyes...her earlier happiness had left her along with her anger, now she just felt drained, and so very emoptionally exghausted.

Once at the lockers, M was able to retrieve his rocket launcher. He had fired it many times in training, but as for a real life crisis situation, consider it on the job training. He would strap it to his shoulder, using the shotgun as his primary weapon, seeing as how most aliens had the disgusting habit of lunging.

All in all, that strategy proved useful for the humans, but how long would they execute these methods? From what M had heard, the species were said to increase in intelligence as well as savagery. Hopefully, it was only a rumor told to him by his buddy when he was first transferred to the lab.

Lex wiped the blood from his mouth. He made sure there was no more blood before reentering into the light with a smile to everyone.
"Okies...is everyones fines, does this mean are we are going to be able to kick alien butt....boyyaaah yeaaah wrawr," Lex said.
Lex smiled as they stared at him with a blank expression, an expression someone may give a child with to much energy. Lex scratched his head.
    "Anything wrong?" Lex asked.

Reese put his thumb on his chin, he was thinking. Thinking heavily. Somebody would need to get the Corasia anyway. Reese turned to everyone.
"We need the chemical Corasia....if we ever meet up with the Juicers this would be the chemical to use," Reese said, "We need someone...not a giant army, just one person to get the Corasia...who should it be?"

    * * *

Stewart continued to stare blankly into the darkness. What was he thinking about? Nothing. What was he feeling nothing?
"Reese should get the Corasia," Stewart said absent minded he didn't realize what his words would stir up.

"Corasia? Where is this chemical?" Keira questioned. When Stewart suggested that Reese should get the chemical, Keira added, "Why should only one person go? Will the mission be dangerous?" Why was she even bothering to ask? If Reese was going to go, why should she care? But, for some reason, she did care. "Well? Where is this chemical?" she repeated.

"Yes! Reese should get it!" Jena immeditely seized upon Stewarts words, losing her tranfixed state from a moment ago. "I mean, after all Reese knows this place best, and knows everything that we need." She cast him and obviously fake and sarcastic smile. She didn't even try acting civil towards him, no only did he not deserve it, it was simply physically impossible for her after what he said and did earlier.

"Reese should get the Corasia," Stewart said.

"Corasia? Never heard of it," Vic said. Every other military person in the room was probably thinking the same thing. Whoever goes will have to be a scientist. "I vote for Reese. If anybody's gonna get killed, let it be him. One less a**hole."

"It would be down this hallway....only one person should go because it won't be very dangerous, wherever Corasia is...Juicers aren't, and if you guys stare here while someone gets it that one person will be safe," Reese said.
Reese stared at the people who were volunteering him. Reese stared at Jena for her sarcastic remarks and then glared at Vic for calling him an a-hole.

    * * *

"Because if it's going to be a harmless mission like Reese says it is he won't get hurt, he has the key to every place, he knows the facility I mean he obviously made the blueprints," Stewart said, "And he seems to be the only person who hasn't pulled their own weight.
    "And you have?" Reese implied.
"If you don't remember I went to go get the Thenine to put the creature on fire that is how I got Divers in my body," Stewart said.

    * * *

    Reese stared at everyone.
"I'll go if that is everyone's wish for me to go," Reese said.
Reese didn't like being called an a-hole.
"I want you to back up your words that this will be a harmless mission," Stewart said, "So Reese should go.

"Are you sure it won't be dangerous?" Keira questioned, concerned. "I mean, if you're alone and one of the Juicers does show up . . . No one will be there to help you. I don't think you should go alone, Reese." Again, that damned caring attitude. Why was she even bothering, after all the jerkish things Reese had done in his past. She couldn't help herself, though. "You have to be positive."

"I'll f@#king go....Juicers fear acidic substances and they are to stupid to notice or know that those acidic bases are in freaking jars and sh!t," Reese said, "Stop f#$king worrying...anyway if that is what everyone wants I'll go."
Reese began walking towards the door. A bit of him wanted to be reckless, wild and crazy. Going for Corasia would be that way. And a tiny bit, just a tiny bit of him wanted someone to go instead of him. Just a tiny bit though.

M shook his head at the asshole comment. He inwardly laughed at it, but it was inappropriate for now. Reese sacrificing himself would show the others he doesn't merely want to play GOD like many scientists often do. If he was willing to risk himself to get the required chemical, he would earn points with M, regardless to if he cared or not.

"Hey man, if you want to go, we won't stop you. I ain't goin' on record sayin' nothin' else."

"Let me make sure I got this straight," Vic said to Reese. "The Juice-dudes won't be comin' after you, they'll be comin' after the group. So, by leaving said group you are effectively taking yourself out of danger." Vic laughed. "Ya know, fo' a second there I thought you was actually takin' one fo' the team, man. But I guess you was jus' b****** out. We the ones that's in trouble, yo. While you hidin' out, lookin' fo' chemicals an' s***, we stuck here holdin' off the juiceman. Ain't that some s***?"

"Go 'head, man. We don't need b****** hangin' 'round here. Wit' any luck, ya won't come back. Peace out, homie."

"Maybe it's best that Reese goes. This way the people that have a problem can take some time to relax." Andrew sat down on the floor and sighed, So much hostility. He thought.

"So I guess we're staying here then?" Andrew looked at Reese for an answer.

"He isn't guaranteed to make it past said juice-dudes on his way to the sh*t. So if he wants to risk it, I say f*ck it."

He shrugged and took another look at Reese as he finished his statement.

"Don't take it the wrong way, but being a genius, I think you definitely know what I'm sayin'."

Keira shook her head. Everyone were making fools of themselves . . . as always. Why did they even need the chemical? And why did only one person have to go? None of it made any sense, and Keira didn't like Reese's plan. She should go with him . . . But no, he wouldn't let her. Everyone wanted Reese gone; they wanted him dead. Keira used to want him dead, but not now for some reason.

"Just be careful, Okay?" she called after him nervously, not listening to what anyone else said.

As much as she hated to asked anything of Reese, this could be essential to their survival. "Hang on a sec, Reese, If Vic is right and there's a higher chance of these juicers cooming after us how do we kill them? Cuz I am sure as hell not going to be alien food, and I'm pretty sure everyone here agree's with me."

"You can slow them down by specialty weapons...rocket launchers, pistols with explosions, pistols with scatter bullets...it will slow them down, not kill them...and if you stay in the room and protect yourself in a more defensive huddle it should work better...they wait for you to take the bait and come out single handily don't take their bait," Reese said, "Juicers may not be there Vic...but there are still Switchers, Colonels, Eaters...they may be possible, and Wiggles...but it's not that far to get Corasia...not that far at all."
Reese pushed himself away from everybody. He had just grabbed ammo for his new gun he had snatched from one of the missing military men's lockers. He after all had the keys. A sub machine pistol, Isay never gave him one of his so he was going to use the next best thing.
Reese smiled as he walked through the hallway. The darkness consuming almost made a giddy child come out of his heart. It was exciting to walk the line of reckless behavior.

"Not far enough," Vic muttered under his breath, too low to be heard. The room fell silent after Reese was gone. What the f***? he thought. Ya think y'all would be glad to have him gone. Instead, y'all actin' like he dead already. "Alright. Let's huddle up," he said, moving to the center of the room. "Knowing Reese, we could be here a long a** time. I wouldn't be surprised if he never come back."

"Guess we stay here then." Jena said to the group before walking over and sitting on the ground by the lockers. The emotional weariness was coming back, and she cold feel it making her unemotional mask slip. She closed her eyes and struggled desperatley to put it back into place...she felt to vulnerable without it...she felt weak without it. And besides she couldn't risk anyone seeing her vulnerable, she had already shown to much of that part of herself to Stewart-even if it was only a small part. But some confusing new voice deep within her was telling her that Stewart was different...he was safe....and another equally confusing voice was telling her that she wanted to let Stewart in. "Shut up...go away" she moaned so quietly that no one else could hear.

This start and stop method wasn't really a hit with M. Now he had the luxury of listening to inaudible mutterings as the chief scientist went about his business. He heaved a sigh and took a place not far from Jena, planting his behind on the floor after gently placing his rocket launcher down.

"Good luck, man," he said to Reese.

He didn't like the idea of sitting when everything was free. They were sitting targets, now literally. He was annoyed, but he would tilt his head back and rest it against the locker and close his eyes to hide his frustration.

"Reese, I can go If you need backup."

Donovan was twitchy he needed some action. All this sitting around was getting him agitated. Up close and personal is how he liked his fights to be. This would also be a good time to have a conversation with Reese

Donovan looked up. He had not seen Reese leave. Oh well that wa just one less thang to worry about

Suddenly the group saw the darkness clot with fast moving dots or were they slow moving. Aliens...no they could hear frightened breaths. They also could hear pistols shots. The darkness was being clotted with swift changes of the darkness.
"Help me....I need help," they heard a call.
The group heard a sudden low growl from behind them. Three Juicers stood behind them. And out of the corner of their eye. They saw scientist coming towards them, running in screaming terror and fear. Turning ever so often to shoot at the darkness.

Jena's eyes snapped open at the noise, her confused thoughts and voices pushed to the back of her mind. She jumped to her feet, and pulled out her two guns. "Anyone got any ideas?!" she said shooting at one of the juicers, not that it did any good. Then she remembered Reese's words, "We need people with specialized guns to shoot at them, NOW!"

"Help me....I need help," someone called from outside.

There's the bait, Vic thought, prepping his gun for what he knew was coming. That s*** don't even sound real. When somebody really needed help, they don't say 'help me, help me.' Instead, it would be something along the lines of 'ahhhh **** **** **** **** ****,' etc, etc.

He locked a fresh power cell into his rail gun and made sure the magazine was full, then pulled on his nightvision goggles. he could see the juicers before they stepped out of the darkness; before anyone else could.

"Anyone got any ideas?!" Jena said, firing at them. "We need people with specialized guns to shoot at them, NOW!"

"Chill the f*** out. I'm on it," Vic said, taking aim. He remembered what he'd learned in basic training. Don't fire 'til you see the whites of their eyes. Or, if they don't have eyes, 'til you see the crack of their a**.

He pulled the trigger. The shot sounded like a thunder clap. The juicer's skin was too elastic for the bullet to penetrate, but the kintetic energy threw the monster across the room. It hit the far wall with a heavy thud; shaken, but not dead. Vic proceeded to do the same to the other two.
