Donovan pulled out his revolver. He aimed at one of the juicers and fired. One shot flipped the thing over and through the air. "That's what I'm talking bout baby." He did not want to waste rounds so he shot his other handgun with the scatter shot off. The shots exploded on impact. It was not as effective as the revolver but he did not have as much ammo for that. "Rain some bullets on these boys till Reese gets back." Donovan just hoped that was soon.
Vic's attempt didn't go so well. He stunned the beasts but didn't kill them. Damn! Strong little assholes. M stood up fast and put the rocket launcher on his shoulder. He stepped several feet ahead of the group. This is that paycheck-earning he was thinking about. It's actually a good thing they're still by the lockers. "Cover yourselves," he said to the group as a collective. He aimed down the hall. The scientist was no longer in sight, but the three aliens were against the wall. M let it rip, taking out the wall and the wallflowers that rested there.
Jena watched as Vic knocked the three aliens over, she hated just standing her, but her guns were useless against the monsters. "Reese better hurry the hell up!" She saw a couple people darting towards the door, presumably to help the "scientist" out there. "Don't move!! We don't know if that real or an alien!" She saw the aliens start to pull themselves up again, cursing she scanned the room for a helpful weapon.
Reese was walking down the halls, he somehow could hear from the vents. He could hear mass chaos ensuing over where they were. He just hoped he wasn't to late. And even if he were he still be alive. He smirked, he wondered the things he could tell the government about what had happened to the facility. To make up a story so good he couldn't believe it was real himself. Of course he would surely make Edgar the bad guy. But what about Keira? Screw her. But... An ankling feeling came into his chest. He hated feeling this way. Fluttery, only weak people felt fluttery. Only weak people could picture roses and love. He found the lab where the chemicals were. There should be enough jars in here.
Spotting a revolver on the groud near the locker, Jena scooped it up and with lightning quck reflexes spun around and fired at a juicer, knocking it against the wall. "Hell yes" she muttered before turning on another alien.
"Don't move!! We don't know if that real or an alien!" Jena said. "Da truth," Vic said. "If he was real, he'd have enough f***** sense to get his a** in here. If he's too dumb to do that, he might as well be dead." He fired off another shot, knocking a juicer back twenty feet and leaving the beast plastered against the wall. A second shot knocked it through the wall and into a room across the hall. He could knock them around all day, but couldn't seem to kill them. "What the f*** are these things made of?"
The Juicer was tired of being pushed back and more back. Suddenly the Juicer opened it's head and charged at Vic. The Juicer made a strange growl war car. "Rarrrrrrrrrr" he it screeched at him as it tried to launch him into it's jaws. * * * Reese opened the door to the labs and he noticed a flickering of the lights. He walked over and noticed the light switches. They still worked. He turned on the lights and smiled at the cases of chemicals. All in alphabetical order. But he noticed a figure too. He stared at the figure human no alien.
"Vic, look out!" Jena shrieked the warning in his direction, and tried to aim at the beast about to attack him, but people were moving so much she couldnt get a clear shot without hitting one of them. She ran towards them, pushing people out of the way, but it wasn't doing much. "Somebody, shoot that goddamn alien!"
Anna, who had been waiting through the chaos, seeing no reason to waste her precious deployable machine gun's ammo, saw the creature and heard Jena's shout at the same time. With the grace of many years of practice she grabbed the top of an open locker, swinging herself up and balancing with one arm and one foot on the upper shelf. From here she could see over everyone's head. Even with all the skill she had with it, her gun was hard to handle with one arm, but she managed to get an aim on the creature and let loose. The barrage of bullets slammed into the creature, throwing it sideways and into the wall what looked like mere inches from Vic's face.
Vic watched the dark hole in the wall. With his NV goggles, he could see the faint outlines of something moving inside. The juicer came again, emerging from the hole in the wall and coming straight for him, reaching with its four tentacled arms. Its head split open, revealing a mouth-like entrance lined with spinning blades, like a blender. No, like a juicer. "You don't wanna f*** wit' me," Vic muttered, standing his ground and taking aim at the creature's gaping mouth. "Vic, look out!" Jena yelled. "Somebody, shoot that goddamn alien!" "I'm jus' takin' my time," he said calmly, as the alien approached. When it was hardly ten feet away, it stretched forth its tentacles, attempting to grab him and pull him in. Machine gun fire came from the left, knocking the creature aside and momentarily throwing off Vic's timing. But the juicer wasn't dead yet and Vic was too focused to let a minor interruption stop him. The beast charged again and he pulled the trigger. The bullet entered the creature's mouth -- which conveniently enough, was also its head -- and practically turned the alien inside out. It exited through its rear, literally ripping the alien a new a**hole, and put another hole in the far wall. The juicer's spinning blades crept to a stop and it fell to the ground, dead. "Toaster beats juicer," he said, looking at the barrel of his rail gun. It was glowing red hot.
Suddenly the blades began to rotate and the half body of the Juicer got back up and went to charge again at Vic. The jaws slashed through Vic's flesh. The Juicer wasn't messing any more.
"Don't these ****ing aliens ever die?!" Jena looked up and saw Anna perched on a shelf, and ideal place for aiming. Jena ran over to the shelf and pulled herself quickly up ont it. Apparently those years of gymnastics hadn't been a total waste. Aiming her gun at the alien now attacking Vic she shot it, blasting it backwards a few feet. Another bullet and it was pushed back a few more. Then she turned to Anna, "hey Anna, nice gun."
Reese wondered if the alien had saw him. It turned around, Oh sh!t. How did a General get all the way here. He wasn't expecting a General. He was dead now. Down right dead. The General's thousand eyes blinked at him. Reese pointed his sub machine gun at the creature. But the General charged. Reese moved quickly out of the way. After all he was bred for this.
Anna flashed Jena a grin, hoisting said "nice gun" higher and taking aim, firing another burst into the juicer. It recoiled further, shoving against the wall and roaring like an animal. Carefully she slung the gun low to her hip, letting the shoulder-strap take its weight as she pulled out her favorite pistol, the one whose bullets exploded on contact. She took aim, firing at the beast's strange flower thing, hoping at the very least that this was more vulnerable and would cause more damage, and fired. The bullet flew true, and blew on contact. The sound of the explosion was painful, and the creature shrieked as if in pain, but it was clearly still alive.
He'd reduced the juicer to a bloody pulp, but it continued attacking. Vic hardly had time to catch his breath before the creature was upon him again. Its spinning blades tore across his chest and torso diagonally. His bulletproof vest saved him from having his vital organs shredded, but his left shoulder took a bad hit. He rolled out of the way, bleeding heavily, as the others fired at the creature, momentarily drawing it away. But they couldn't kill it -- only Reese and the Corosia could do that. Worst of all, the d*** thing was totally obsessed with Vic; it wanted him and none other. He attempted to raise his gun, but his left arm wasn't cooperating. If he couldn't lift it, he sure as hell couldn't fire it. He could get to the med box after the battle and fix himself, but there was no time for that right now. He needed that d*** juicer to leave him alone. An explosive shell hit the juicer, knocking it back for a moment. The thing was unstoppable. Its legs were broken, but it kept dragging itself towards him. How do you get away form a crippled monster? he asked himself. Duh. Ya go upstairs. With his arm messed up, he couldn't climb on top of anything, but he did have a way of sending the juicer downstairs. The juicer approached again, dragging its wrecked body across the smooth floor. Vic was standing, but couldn't lift his gun to fire. He went down on one knee, pointing the muzzle of his gun at the floor and waited until the juicer was right in front of him. An instant before it attacked, he squeezed the trigger, blasting a hole in the floor. The recoil knocked Vic clear of the abyss, but the juicer fell in. It disappeared into the void, dropping down to the level beneath them.
Reese was grabbed by one of the strong arms of the General. He was thrown back. He heard a crunch as he tried to catch himself. Pain shot through his right arm. The arm that had already had jammed cartilage. That must have broken it. Generals were strong. They took a lot of bullets to kill, but they died easily by bullets. He began shooting with his left, not the best aim with his left.
Vic returned to the group. His railgun was overheating and his arm was too wrecked to fire it anyway. He left it on the floor by his duffel bag and picked up a handgun. Against the juicers, it was like having a peashooter, but he couldn't just stand by and not help. He fired a few futile shots before he finally said "f*** it," and sat down, surrounded by his comrades. They could handle this without him. And he didn't want to antagonize another juicer. The other two didn't seem to mind him as much as the first. He wanted to light a joint, but he felt high already. The blood loss was getting to him. His head was swimming. His left shoulder had been shredded nearly to the bone; the pain had numbed his mind as well as his body. With a vacant look in his eyes, he stared at the gun in his hands. "Where's Reese?" he mumbled to himself, teetering on the edge of consciousness. "I'm gonna kill that motha f**** when he comes back... if he comes back."
"God damn you son of a b!tch," Reese said. It was taking forever he kept on stapling this creature with bullets, but it wasn't going down. He was getting impatient he could feel it. And his father had always told him to be patient when killing. He knew these creatures took a lot of bullets and well aimed shots to take down. He know he couldn't get the best aim with his left hand. He could shoot a lot of rounds with his left, he had the strength, just never the aim. The creature was getting tired of Reese, he could tell that too. The creature finally grabbed Reese again, this time with his left. This creature, the General. It almost seemed to be emitting it's rage towards Reese. It stared at Reese for a moment. Reese believed there to be anger and sadness in the General's eyes. Reese knew they were capable of speech or somewhat speech. But the General and him continue staring at each other. Then, "Do u cre abt wht u'v dne?" The General was asking him something, he wasn't exactly sure the question was. But the General continued to stare at him with rage, sadness, and a new emotion. Reese didn't know these creatures could feel anything. Do u cre abt wht u'v dne?" Did he care about what he had done? Reese thought on this. "About my people yes...about you no," Reese answered honestly. Red seemed to flash in the General's eyes, it threw Reese into the wall like a hard ball. Reese heard the wall crumbled a little, and he heard a few short crunches. Reese sat there near the wall, wondering how the hell did he not become a blood splat. He watched as the General walked off.
The clotting figures from the darkness became more clear the group as the clotted group came closer. It was a large group of eaters. And a few more Juicers alongside Wiggles. An army had been brought, just for them. Could there be a reason for this? Began in the groups head. Did something affect the way the creatures wanted to attack them? It all rang in their head.
Donovan aimed and fired his handgun. His eyes focused clearer then ever before. It was like looking through a scope, only with the naked eye. Three rounds left the clip leaving three wiggles dead. He felt debris from the explosion as Vic flew through the air and dropped the rail gun. "Damn Vic that was a great idea." The hole in the ground had dropped the juicer fifteen feet. An idea popped in his head and he ran for the rail gun. It was hot but with every one trying to find the high ground he was the only one that could use it. The damn thing was heavy too. "If you have any type of explosive throw it in front of the army in the hall way. We got one shot at this and we might be able to live till Reese gets back. Any explosives towards the doorway now."
Anna wasn't sure it would do much good, but it was worth a try. As Donovan took aim with Vic's rail gun, she prepared to fire her exploding pistol rounds into the gap, hopefully blowing away at the broken edges. She only wished she wasn't hanging from a locker and had another hand to man a second gun with, but sometimes you only get what you have.
Keira had been holding the aliens off with what remained of the ammunition in her pistol. She had managed to kill a few of the creatures, but they just seemed to keep on coming, like some sort of never-ending army. How much longer did they have to hold them off? When would Reese be back? Had he suceeded in his mission? He better have, Keira thought to herself, Or we're all dead. When the ammunition in her pistol ran out, Keira tossed it to the side and loaded her shot gun, the gun that she had picked up in the locker room. I'm glad I grabbed this . . . The last thing she would have expected was an all out battle against the demented creatures; at least she was prepared. The others seemed to be doing nicely, but Keira knew that they couldn't spare much more time. Where the hell was Reese? She hoped he was alright. Hopefully he hadn't been hurt. Not that she need him or anything . . . Well, the group needed him. Yes, that was it. The group needed him. Keira cried out in pain when one of the creature's raked it's claws across her arm, but it wasn't a serious wound. She put an end to the alien with a shot to the heart. "Damn it, Reese, you bastard!" she shouted. "Where the hell are you?"
Stewart decided to go with the plan. Since he wasn't the best shooter, he's hand was getting tired, and he really really really didn't want to hurt the beast. Somehow the expressions in their eyes reflected a sort of anger a person would have when they were rioting or debating about something. Fighting for the freedom. It almost made Stewart sick with himself. Do you care? He heard in his head. Care, I care about everyone...July she, she just probably wants to survive and Anna...why is everything kill to survive? He heard odd whispering. We'll protect you Who is we? The ones who have become one with you. He knew what that meant he was going cookoo bananas and thought the Diver's were speaking to him. Great. Lex needed some way to get them out. * * * Reese got up from the crater he had made in the wall. He was certainly surprised by how he didn't turn to a blood splat. Like so many other scientist he had seen. He took a deep breathe and a shot of pain went through his chest. He realized just now how painful breathing was. He now realized the pain in his right arm. He could barely move his arm, it was broken. He didn't know how bad, he didn't care how bad. Right now he needed Corasia. He walked of to the shelves. CO, CO. It was such a good thing that these were in alphabetical order. He wondered about the chaos he heard, but not now. He was rapidly realizing each fiery breath he made was the last of his breath. It was becoming very quickly hard to breathe. How bad did his left side ribs break? He really didn't want to know. He found the chemical and noticed four jars. Reese fought the pain of his right hand. He needed to get their quick or do something. Something came to his head that room was close, real close.
The creatures themselves weren't going to take being pushed back lightly. One of the Juicers flung itself, jaws open, wide open launching itself towards Anna. An eater approached Donovan, it's stomach wide open reading to suck Donovan inwards. Jenna while shooting suddenly felt a sting on her shoulder a Wiggle had gotten it's aim on Jenna and threw up on her.
Chaos. All around her, her companions were in sticky situations. It seemed like Keira was going to be the lone survivor. A Juicer had launched itself at Anna, probably to eat her or tear her apart. Donovan was about to be sucked inside of an Eater. Jenna had encountered a Wiggle. Keira looked all about her, trying to decide what to do. She took a shot at her nearest target, an Eater who had come to join its alien companion in devouring Donovan. Keira shot at it, distracting it, hoping to save at least one of her ally's life. She only succeeded in drawing the Eater's attention to her, and it flung itself towards her. How do you kill an Eater again . . .?
