Donovan Looked at Lex. "Ain't this a B***H. How the Flying rat f*** did we miss that. Now you got me cussing. What kind of alien are you?" This was not going to be a good look getting duped by a snake.
Regios, the friendly General, stopped in his tracks as Lex shed his skin and became a snake-monster. The way the General described his attack on Reese made it clear this one was a little smarter than the others; smart in a good way. He attacked Reese to make a point. Vic could relate to that; he'd wanted to do the exact same thing for months now. "I got yo' back, Reggie," Vic said, drawing his rail gun and aiming it at the new monster. He had no qualms with blowing apart what was left of Lex's body. At this point, it was nothing more than a suit for aliens to parade around in. We can't have them doing that now, can we?
"You don't enter an alien planet without thinking there would be other aliens....poor us, we've gotten no attention and Karon and Regios so upset....why?" the new alien said, "My name is Anthea, I am head of the colony called Bruska and as you can see some of us look like snakes....now unlike Regios and Karon...I don't care about anything, especially humans...I have had to live of your vending machine chips for nearly a year now....I hate chips by now." Anthea looked at his well manicured nails and then stared at them. "What do you have to say to bringing no variety within in my diet, it's like humans don't care about variety these days," Suddenly the dead bodies of the scientist shook weird spider creatures came out and some snake children. "Oh look now they think that since I'm out of hiding they can come out....hmmm well whatever," Anthea said.
Donovan looked around. He was cussing and Vic was a choir boy. He pulled his handgun out and started popping the little snakes and spiders. "I don't know what the hell you are but this ends now. You die, they die. Give me long enough and I will figure out how to blow up the whole planet." The little babbies started coming after him. He pulled out his machete and started hacking them to pieces. A few made it through his swinging blade and bit him, but he did not care. It was time to deal with these fools
"****, this is just great. We are now facing some insaen alien whose been pretending to be an insane scientist and had been living of chips for an entire ****ing year. Could this get any ****ing better." Nerves and anger were never a good mix for Jena, "Seriously! Someone just shoot the godamn thing! You know what, I'll jsut shoot the ****ing creature!" She said as she fired a bullet right at it's chest.
Anthea gave a flash of anger as his children were being killed. "You put your weapon down now....they ain't attacking you, they ain't harming you, we haven't hurt you humans in years....when you put the other species into reckoning we disguise ourselves as human...don't make me rip you into pieces." Anthea was shocked when the woman shot him. "Regios...do something about these pest," Anthea said, "That hurt....that really really really really hurt....and I was going to tell you some juicy inside story of what happened to the generator....I don't feel like it any more, after that."
"So your mad at us after you make ****ing threaten us?!" Jena let out a growl of frustration. "Look lets just clear this up once and for all, are you going to kill us?!"
"Either you lack the common sense or you just forget easily....I have been disguised as Lex for a while now, I didn't kill him, I have been disguised as a human and so have my children," Anthea paused, "We hadn't killed anyone while in our disguise what the hell makes you think we'd kill you know?" Anthea didn't like them they were cruel to him. He didn't like being cruel. "Okay, I made up Dr. Lex he was my disguise, he never died and yeah," Anthea said, "But we had great times...me and Andrew when I was Lex were buddies, I never harmed a human in my life it's insulting for you to think I would ruined my beauty on pest like you...it's like burning ants it's a waste of time." Anthea took dirt out of his elegant nails. "Maybe it wasn't a good time to shed my disguise," Anthea said.
Donovan put down his weapons. What had happened to the generator. "Look snake," Donovan grabbed his revolver, "this will do a lot more then hurt. What happened to the generator and why did you kill Lex and the scentist to inhabit there bodies." Donovan paused a thought crossing his mind. "That means you and your kind have been experimenting on Regios and the others for the past year. We've been guarding aliens experimenting on other aliens. Was Reese even human?"
"Finally we're getting somewhere!! Look I don't want to kill anybosy either, I jsut want ot sit somwhere and think. So if you're not going to kill us then hpw about we all find Reese so Keira stops freaking out, then we will find somewhere to stop for the night. Sound good?! good!" Jena started to walk out the door, she had snapped and she knew it. turning around she faced the group again, "Just because I said we should find Reese doesn't mean I want to fins him alone! I sure as hell don't want to do that so come on, oh and Anthea feel free to join us as long as you don't kill us." She turned around and started walking down the hall.
"I didn't kill Lex....Lex Ricewater never existed I made him up," Anthea said, "It's easy to get into those little government documents and fake birth documents and things like that...very easy." Anthea looked at his nails again. "The generator was messed up by one of your scientist...they may or may not be alive," Anthea said.
"But you and your brrod have been conducting experiments on the other aliens disguised as scientist. Why, what is the point in hiding among us? Who was the scientist that sabotaged the generator" Donovan did not like this situation.
Vic was sitting on the floor, with his railgun laid across his lap, smoking a blunt. Everybody was talking to the effeminate snake-man, as if that mutha f**** had somethin' interestin' to say. "He ain't got s***," Vic mumbled to himself. Snakes lie, man... what he gon' do next? Offer us a f***** apple or some s***? Vic laughed for no reason. "Yo'! Quit talkin' to the f***** snake-dude! We got s*** to do. Ya feel me?"
"Not a brood all the scientist I we had disguised were actually medical personal....we have made those small inventions like the med box and everything, do you think a human could make that...do you really think a human knows about cellular division the way we do," Anthea said. Anthea smiled at them and flipped his scaly hair a little.
Jena was already partway down the hall, she couuld tell no one was following her but right now she didn't really care. However when she calmed down she knew the isolation would cut into her again especailly with all of her confusion. But she couldn't jsut stand there either, she needed to get somewhere safe and quiet to think, maybe even talk to someone. She still did not stop walking down the hall.
"...Do you really think a human knows about cellular division the way we do," Anthea said. "You a snake," Vic said. "Shut the f*** up, yo." He stood up from his spot on the ground, dusted himself off, and followed Jena. At some point, she decided to leave the group. He knew that was a bad idea, especially with the alien tracker on her. "And Anthea is a girl's name, dude," he called to the snake man as he walked away. "I think you might be gay, yo. You should get that s*** checked out. And f*** yo homies," he said, stomping on one of the spiders. It made a nice SQUISH and a resounding crunch.
"What scientist Caused the generator problem?" Donovan was glad Vic had gone to get Jena. She did not need to be alone. To many questions not enough answers. "Regios, what do you think?"
"In my culture there is no such thing a guy or girl....gay or straight," Anthea said, "If need be during mating season I can change myself from male to female so we can breed properly." Anthea suddenly turned his body more human like. He was now a really attractive woman in her twenties. "I'll be Karen Heartbreaker for now," Karen said, "How are you?" * * * "Teh sctntist who dsn't gt engh attntn, the ghst sctntist...nt Edgr, bt a tru ghst and nt sprntrl ghst ether....qut dsn't spk mch no one ntces thm," Regios said, "I see him once or twce or so." Regios stared at them. "I mst go nw," Regios said, "We my mt agn."
The situation was confusing and making Anna's head hurt terribly. Jena had stormed off down the hall, and Vic had soon followed. The woman had also seemed to be suffering a mental breakdown or anxiety attack or something. Anna wanted to follow Jena and comfort her, she liked the woman, but she wouldn't know how, and her duty was to Stewart--she couldn't leave without him. It was almost tempting to ask him to follow the two so she could go, but she decided not to. Instead she stood there, unsure of what to make of the whole situation.
Edgar had watched in horror as more aliens had appeared approaching the armory while the others were distracted he went to his locker and pulled open a compartment that had kept its content's hidden. He had little weapons experience but he had commandered all the weaponry of the guards he had had to dispose of. A silenced pistol and a magnum, dated but it would do the trick. He just hoped he could handle the kickback he'd seen it in the movies these things were a beast. Finally a SMG, perhaps he could be that man in the movies. He turned to the approaching horde and thought the better of it. He scurried under a desk and drew his legs in his arms huddled around it holding onto the SMG with the two pistols clipped to his side. Hardly the heroic look. A voice came over the tanoy and someone joined him under the cover shooting him a look for been a coward. He didn't care he was alive and had got some advanced safety from the acid. Once it stopped and the others emerged he waited for a second and did the same. They held little interest in him. They began to move again after some discussion which he choose to stay out of, no need to get his head bitten off. He hoped none of them recognised who the weaponry he possesed belonged to. A general emerged and began to talk, he'd read notes that had documented this but hadn't been privy to hit himself. It figured if human's had culture why couldn't these. Seperate colonies made sense. Once again they had been ignorant and got in deep in something they didn't understand and what's more they had been blind, sloppy been infiltrated by the very thing they were experimenting on the irony. The others began to open fire but he stood still with his weapons lowered, if the others got killed so be it he'd take his chances with these ones. IF they'd lived with them and done them no harm he didn't see why they would start now. "Hear them out, save your ammo, you know the reality is we're likely to loose anyway. Co-operation might not be such a bad thing." his voice lacked authority and he wondered if it was even heard over the others shouting and shooting. He wondered whether he should force a smile at the general? Was that appropriate? He didn't want to make eye contact, besides where exactly was eye contact? He looked down at his feet and observed the spider like creatures. They really had no clue what had been going on did they. And here they were been told about their personal who had destroyed the generator. "I knew it wasn't my fault" he muttered under his breath.
He was tempted. He was tempted to just fall behind the group and let a rocket off into their backs. Dead wife, many aliens with assassination on their mind, and a group that's way over the top in dealing with the issue. Too much to happen in one day. He followed the rest of the group, taking up the rear. He's not going to shoot them for real, he would have to look for new employment. That would just be another inconvenience to enter his life in such a short time. The worse part is, he won't have a moment to think any of this over in the near future.
"That was fun." Andrew said as he watched the group and listened to the aliens. "I wonder what happened to lex." Andrew had obviously piad little attention to waht the aliens had said, he was more interested in the absence of his sinaty and previous intelligence. So is this crazy? I wonder if I can fly, does being insane give me flying abilities? Andrew skipped as he followed the gorup. the experiences of the psat few hours and eevn before the explosion of the generator he had been radiply declining itno insanity. Now he had hit the boottm and emrbaced it. "Final ambience anyone?" Andrew stuffed his pistol in his poeckt and pulled out his pen. he bagen to draw strange sybmols on his hadns and he whistled quitely.
Donovan waited for the group to pass him by then followed in there wake. He was going to bring up the rear. Two of the most dangerous creatures stood behind them and he wanted to be sure that nothing caught them off guard. He kep his blade and revolver at the ready. He had what he needed to get his job done. His concern for his people had him distracted. Vic, Keira, and Stewart were the ones in best shape besides himself. The others looked half starved. Insanity could clearly be seen lurking behind there eyes. This was not a good day. He had to trust that Vic was up to the challenge. The man's space herb should be keeping him even and balanced. Maybe the others should smoke that, or maybe Vic had something that could get them perked up some. Alcohol seemed to give people courage back hom, maybe the herb good be an equivalent. "Vic, how much herb you got left. If I got to I will pay you but I think everyone needs a little puff puff pass right now to get there nerves calm and stomachs settled. Feel me. I know you don't want one of these fools to turn tale or loose there nerve in the next firefight." Donovan waited for Vic to respond
Anna heard Donovan talking to Vic behind her, but she didn't care. Fine, if Donovan thought some of them needed a pick-me-up, he was probably right. That was his problem, and she really couldn't care less. She was tired, and her head ached horribly, but she trudged on dutifully at Stewart's side, ready to protect him with her life if need be. "Where are we going?" she muttered after a little while, not so much to anyone as to just break the eery silence.
Stewart smiled. "We're almost there," Stewart said beginning to pick up the pace. He feared by the time they got there Reese was dead. They were almost there one more room now and a few more blocks. Just a few more. "We're really close...the door will probably be opened,"
