Stewart could hear the softness and weakness of Anna she said Sure in a matter that made him understand that he was being a bit silly. But he didn't want to see her soft side that scared him a bit. But he still worried about those strange urges he felt earlier. He wondered if it had to do with the explosion of the generator or the head injury he had sustained during the explosion.....something came back to him. It was quick and sudden though and he could barely tell what was coming back to him. He was in the experiment office when he slipped on a paper, bang on his head. He remembers a dizzy feeling, but nothing to worry about. He went onto the experiments when he recovered. I still think we need to kill Reese Come on Stewart help us out I couldn't I wouldn't you know that July A quick flash a different behavior, a different scene. The generator. Error key in the cooling system. Back flash the folders in hand. Isay was staring at Stewart on his 6th round with folders. "Your head is bleeding Stewart...let me help with the folders we can fix your head, " Isay said. "Oh I'm fine it's just a little bump," Stewart said. "A bump doesn't equal blood," Anna was walking over as well, she had finished her coffee in the cafeteria. A shake a rumble and an explosion. Stewart stared at the wall. All though the flashback itself was incoherent, he knew what it meant. He was right the bump on his head did alter his behavior, but it was earlier. It was earlier that he hit his head, not during the explosion. And this meant, it was him who sabotaged the generator. He got up quickly. "Donovan! Donovan I need Anna....I need Anna," Stewart said, "I need her now."
Anna, who had been distracted imagining the storm as Donovan said, and trying not to pull away from his grip on her was broken from her reverie at Stewart's voice. The panic in her eyes should be plenty apparent to Donovan as she pulled away from him, running back to where Stewart was and skidding to a stop, nearly crashing into the wall in her hurry, "What's wrong?" she gasped, shaken from everything that had happened, and now worried about Stewart to top it off.
Everyone was already awake, and more had been going on than Keira realized. Stewart was saying something, and loudly. What could he possibly want with Anna? Did he need to tell her something? Obviously it was something important, or he wouldn't have bothered in the middle of the night. But, if so, what was it? Keira sat up in bed, listening. She wouldn't make her presence known; hopefully they couldn't see her in the dark. She would just spy on them for a while. Keira had been kept in the dark for too long. She hadn't known what had been going on for the past day. She didn't even know who had caused the damn explosion. It was time for her to know everything, and maybe Stewart would spill some of it.
Donovan had left, and now only Vic and Jena were there. They already had a little chemistry established, perhaps some time alone might help. M, not being able to sleep, got up from the cot and left out the door, nodding at Vic on the way out. He went to the next room with the ladies and Stewart. They seemed to be in some kind of turmoil. He yawned and rubbed his bare chest before speaking to the group. "Don't mind the half-nakedness, can I sleep here?"
"Anna.....Anna....I....we....I....we......I'm the one, the one who messed with the generator, I made it malfunction by cutting it's cooling system off," Stewart said lowly, "I....we have to...I don't know, I don't know....we have to maybe kill Reese, if he finds out....what if he finds out, what will he do to me then....I don't know, I did when my head was hurt and I....I guess I suffered from a behavioral change when I hit my head....I don't know Anna, what do I do now?" Stewart stared at her. He still was a little shocked that he would have done something like that. Even with his head banged up. He stared at Anna. His eyes in panic, anxiety, worry, fear, and every emotion he could feel at this moment. He didn't know what to do.
Donovan ran after her. Despite his concern for Stewart he knew Anna needed this time. He was there next to her and whispered to low for Stewart to hear. "Do not let duty interefer with your health, stability, and well being. Donovan touched her back and squeezed her arm to let her know he was there for her.
Keira lay back down, pretending to be asleep. What she had heard frightened her. Stewart had tampered with the generator? He was the one who had caused the explosion. He wanted to kill Reese? He had banged up his head, and that was what had caused him to do it? Keira didn't believe it. She couldn't. No wonder Stewart had been acting so weird lately. She didn't necessarily believe that a banged up head could cause him to do all of those things, but he was certainly planning something. He was against them all. He wanted to kill Reese. But why? What had Reese ever done to him? Keira inhaled deeply, trying to calm herself. What should she do now?
"It's okay," Anna whispered to Stewart. Then she did something she never would have imagined doing. She got down on the floor in front of him and put her arms around his neck, pulling him close to her and running her fingers through his hair. "I won't let Reese do anything to you. I promise you that--on my life. It will be okay, you hear me? I will kill Reese if I have to, but killing him now is stupid. Okay? I promise, Stewart, just don't panic."
The day got even stranger when Anna knelt down beside Stewart, running her hands through his hair. Why was everyone now pairing up? It was weird . . . Well, Keira supposed she couldn't be bothered by it. She had been the first culprit, no matter how much she may deny it. But still. They wanted to kill Reese? It had been Stewart's fault! He had been the one to blow up the generator! He killed so many scientists, caused them so much terror and pain. It was his fault, so why was everyone suddenly siding with him? And now Anna wanted to kill Reese, too? Why? Keira frowned and cursed under her breath. She couldn't just sit here and listen to this anymore, so she slowly stood from the bed, trying not to make a noise. The last thing she wanted was for Stewart or Anna to hear her. Then she began to tip-toe out of the room, towards the door and down the hall. Hopefully they hadn't seen her. After that, she made her way, quietly, to Reese's room. "Reese?" she said softly, hoping he was awake. Keira had to tell him. She couldn't just let Stewart and Anna kill him, no matter how much she liked them. They were her friends. Co-workers. Friends should never turn against each other.
"How can I not panic?" Stewart said, "This isn't me, this isn't like me....I would never never do something like this....and yet it happened and I did.....I did do something that isn't like me...telling me to panic isn't going to help anything, because it still happened and I'm still...still...still the one to blame." Stewart hated himself, felt disgusted with himself. This wasn't like him, it just wasn't. So why is it just like him. He didn't know what to do. He kept on taking everything from Anna and now this too. * * * Reese sat in darkness still trying to catch his breathe from the horror of nearly drowning in his sleep. Then he heard a familiar voice whisper his name. "Yeah," he replied, "You need?"
"Stewart, listen to me," she said, pulling away from him and forcing him to look into her eyes. "We don't know why that happened, but calm down. You need to breathe. It doesn't take a genius to know that you haven't been quite your usual self lately. It was an accident, whatever happened was nothing more than an accident. We'll talk to Reese, tell him what happened. He's in no condition to do anything to you right now, but if he or anyone else tries to do anything I won't let them. Okay?"
When Reese replied, Keira immediately spoke, "Reese, there's something going on with Stewart. I think you'll want to hear this." She walked into the room, sitting on the end of Reese's bed to get a closer look at him. He seemed to be in better condition than the day before. "He's done something horrible," she added, concerned for both Reese's sake and Stewart's.
Andrew closed his eyes and put his hand on Stewart's shoulder, "It's going to be Mars. We're all ourselves." The sound of his breathing became faint and his palms began to sweat as Andrew got down on one knee. He opened his eyes and smiled at Stewart. His once snow white lab coat was now dirty and torn. He gasped as the dim light flashed and dark, hellish images overtook his mind. "Finally facing me are you? I am that dark, this cold. Peaceful!" Andrew began to giggle as he watched people dying, he saw the world burning and he raised his pistol to his face, he shoved the barrel in his mouth. hehe He thought as he pulled the trigger.
OOC: Yeah yall are typing to fast, I was trying to catch your char. before you spoke. Donovan tried to catch Keira but she moved to quickly to Reese's room. He stood thinking for a moment. "M we got to keep Reese from doing anything crazy go see whats going on,...Please"
Stewart stared at Anna. "I'm just scare, very scared Anna," Stewart said, "And I'm sorry I'm so selfish....you had a problem before me and I interrupted it, but I am sorry....so sorry, I don't know what Reese will say...I'm scared." Stewart was trying to calm himself, at least for Anna, but panic raced through his hearts. * * * Reese stared in the darkness where the voice came from and then Keira came at the end of his bed. "What did he explode because of the Diver's in his body?" Reese said, "This should be interesting to hear."
OOC:: Sorry about the OOC but Twin, your post doesn't make much sense. Could you modify it? lol IC:: Keira shook her head. "No, no . . . Reese, he was the one who tampered with the generator. Yes, he tampered with it, and that's why it blew up." Her voice was a low whisper. "And he says a head injury messed with his brain; that's why he tampered with the generator. But . . . but he's planning to kill you!" It was all so sudden. Why was Stewart acting like that? It couldn't possibly be a head injury, could it?
Anna didn't know what to do. She didn't know how to comfort people--she usually just shot people in agony, but she couldn't shoot Stewart. "It'll be okay," she said feebly, trying to think of a way to make him relax. "No matter what no one is going to hurt you. I promise you that, okay? I swear on my life it will be okay--no matter what I'll make it. So just try to breathe."
Donovan pulled Anna away from Stewart. "Why did you blow the generator? What do you remember doing before you did it? Where were you?" Donovan looked at Stewart earnestly.
Anna glanced up at Donovan; she had to crane her neck to see his face at this distance, he really was much taller. But what was he doing? Stewart needed her--somehow she hoped being close to him could help, but really she didn't know what she was doing, all she knew was that Donovan ripping her away from him was probably not going to help anything, and she couldn't help being a little bit angry with the man for taking the initiative and doing something that was clearly against her will. Yet she couldn't find the words to oppose him after he'd been so nice to her, so she just glared.
"I was just recording the aliens, you know talking to them," Stewart said, "I just...I just...then I slipped on some paper hit my head on the desk, then I don't remember, I guess my behavior changed from when I don't remember." Stewart was a little scared of Donovan fury. Stewart didn't know what to do, he could exactly remember anything specific. Anything about the generator sabotage was really fuzzy. "I don't know why I sabotaged the generator," Stewart said, "I guess I wanted to please the aliens....all my life I have only pleased others and did what they wanted, my parents wanted me to be successful, a scientist or a doctor they always said I got this job to please them...it's in my nature to please others, it's the only thing I know." * * * "What!?" Reese said harshly and quietly such force in his voice made his side hurt a bit, he was trying to calm down he was almost afraid he wouldn't be able to breathe again, "He's planning on killing me too...that little traitor." Reese stared at Keira, he was going to get up and go into Stewart's room right this instant.
Donovan turned to Anna. Her glare told him a lot about how she felt. "Remember what I said about pride and help. Reese is probably be going to come here." Donovan grabbed her hand and squeezed it, "I am not asking you to run anywhere as my equal I want you to stand with me so we can protect Stewart." Donovan looked into her eyes trying to read what was there.
Donovan was watching her, and she didn't like that. She made even more careful than usual to make sure her face was devoid of emotion; a blank slate. She leveled with Donovan's gaze for a moment, no expression in her eyes, then turned to Stewart. "It will be okay," she reassured him. "I promise you. I will protect you with my life. Always."
"Emotions are not a weakness, they can be a strength. You should never mask them. Yes I do see that your armor is back up. You have got to let people in. Trust is hard I know but it can bear much fruit." Donovan looked at her hoping his words would get through to her.
So many decisions, so many things at stake. He couldn't take it Stewart just couldn't take it. Why wasn't he the same? Why did this happen? Why were they helping him? He made people die a lot of people die. "No...no...no...if we runaway they'll still be hunted," Stewart said, "Maybe if I talk to the aliens and talk to Reese....maybe we'll stop all of this."
"It will be okay, Stewart," Anna promised, patting his shoulder reassuringly. "We'll make it work, and we won't hurt anyone unless we have to." Then she turned to Donovan, her voice icy. "Walk in on the man you love, in your house, to find him with another woman. You want to shoot him, so bad. You are so angry. But instead you pull the trigger on her. Then you run for you life." She turned away, biting back angrily at the tears that threatened to spill, hoping now he understood.
