"I'm really not tired," Keira said with a frown. "I can never sleep with so much on my mind." She glanced at her friends, all sleeping peacefully, and wondered how they could do such a thing when in danger - after so much had happened. "I guess we could both keep watch."
"Yes, we can...I would like that," Reese paused, "Anna fell asleep because I believe Dedward was draining her blood so she has an excuse, Stewart I have no clue personality issues I'm suggesting, Jena shouldn't have fallen asleep, but whatever....I'll ignore it." Reese stared at the floor. Without Keira noticing or watching, Reese slid his hand down on his left side with the broken ribs. He had never really counted how many ribs were broken neither had he ever felt the wound, well he felt it, but not enough to know how long it would heal.
"Hmm . . ." Keira muttered, folding her arms across her chest. Stewart had been acting very strangely lately, indeed, but who was Dedward? Was that the Diver or something? Keira hadn't really known anything about that. She had been staring at her sleeping friends, and when she glanced at Reese she noticed that he was running his hand along his side as if testing the pain in his ribs. "Are you alright?" she asked, concerned.
"I'm fine, just seeing how many ribs are broken, I count four and one of them is free floating," Reese said, "No I think Dedward is of Stewart's creation, I think the Diver's are just responding to the one with the most maliciousness." Reese stared at Keira. "Are you all right?" Reese paused, "Hurt anywhere."
Keira nodded her head in understanding. That cleared things up . . . a little bit. But were the Divers gone, or were they still inside Stewart? If they were still inside of him, they may take action again and try to kill Reese a second time. That wouldn't really surprise her, though. When Reese asked her if anything was hurt, Keira's hand instinctively went to her throbbing chest, but she dropped it immediately. Reese would only worry if she told him what had happened. "No, I'm fine. Everything's fine." To change the subject, Keira asked, "You're not mad at Stewart, are you? I mean, it wasn't his fault."
"In a way he passed the mental test before coming in the facility, had I known he had some personality issues, I would have helped," Reese paused, "The divers are still in him he'll live like a Colonel, I have a feeling alpha Colonels live with Divers like that, I can't say I'm mad at him more or less disappointed." Reese stared at her. "Are you mad at Stewart?" he asked.
"I don't know . . ." Keira muttered, looking down at the ground. "I was, but now that I understand everything, I can't really blame him. He's a good friend when he's himself. But you've changed a lot. Only a few days ago it seemed like you hated everyone." That had puzzled her for quite some time. Well, she supposed that all of them had changed in one way or another, but Reese's change was the most drastic.
"I said before it wasn't that I hated them, it was that I hated myself," Reese paused. He stared at Keira. "You make me rethink everything,"
"How so?" Keira questioned with a smile. Could she really have changed Reese Maris that much? Had she really made him rethink his whole life? No, it was impossible. But then again, Keira had been surprised a lot lately.
Reese stared at her. "Well the day I died, you.....you stared at me with the utmost kindest eyes on the planet," Reese said, "From that moment I realized what I missed in my life." Reese smiled at her.
Keira smiled back at him, glad that she had changed him for the better. He was a completely different person now - a far better person, and that made Keira feel so good inside. Perhaps it had changed her, too. She had learned to be more open, to let her guard down every once in a while. To let people in. "Thank you," she said. "I needed to hear that." She touched his arm in a friendly manner. "Really."
Reese stared at her. "Yes, really I mean it," Reese said, "I realize now you are my savior, even back there...it's that expression that will keep me living."
"What exactly are you trying to say, Reese Maris?" Keira asked teasingly, placing her hands on her hips and grinning at him. She was his savior, she was what kept him living, yeah, yeah, yeah. He loved her - that's what it was. Keira knew it, and she wanted him to admit it. She wanted to know that what she thought was actually true.
"Well Keira Holmes that means...." Reese smiled, "That there is this wonderful woman standing in front of me, who saved me twice may I add, she is strong and beautiful....and I'm in love with this woman." Reese stared at her again. "I think I've been in love with this woman for a long time just never noticed it,"
So it was true! It was amazing how such horrible events could bring out the best in people. If Stewart hadn't blown up the generator, Reese would be the same idiot that he had been only a few days ago, and Keira would have never realized that she loved him. Maybe she had always been in love with that idiot. It made her smile just thinking about it. But now was a serious time, not a time for games, so Keira let her smile fade and looked up at him. "I love you, too, Reese," she said calmly, her blue eyes flashing in excitement, "and if weren't for all of this," she gestured all around her - at her sleeping, stressed out companions, at the ruined corridors, at the dead bodies of the Wall Walkers and such that they had all slain earlier, "I would have never even realized it."
Reese smiled. "I think this situation made us awake," Reese paused, "I think now is a good time to have hope, so I would like something more to hope for....Keira when we survive, cause I know it I won't die and neither you, will you go out to dinner with me?"
Keira laughed slightly, amused by his request. They had to hope, even though it was evident that they may never find a way out of the cursed facility. "Of course," she said, wrapping her arms around him to kiss him. At least no one was awake to witness their . . . realization.
Reese let her wrap her arms around him and she came in for a kiss. He kissed her back. He was actually glad they weren't going to be interrupted this time or he hoped they weren't interrupted.
Keira broke apart for a moment to smile at him, ruffling his hair with her hand. "Mind if I sit down?" she asked. She was getting tired of just standing there, and it was awkward. Sitting down, she patted the ground next to her for him to sit as well, where they could both watch over their companions and look out for danger.
He sat down beside her with another smile. "It's quiet," he told her. Reese scanned the area, it seemed like this area was dead except for the breathing of their companions.
"Yes," Keira replied. The eerie silence was frightening in a way. It seemed as if at any moment Ursula would reappear, threatening to kill them again. Keira shivered involuntarily and reached out a hand to touch Reese's. Only moment's ago she had been wide awake, unable to sleep, and now she was tired, almost unable to keep her eyes open. "I'm so tired all of a sudden. You don't mind if I leave you to watch over the others, do you?" If she had to, she would stay up with him.
Reese smiled at her. "If you want to sleep I don't mind," Reese said, "Though I won't have anyone to talk to if you do fall asleep." Reese didn't like the silence it would creep him out.
"Well, if the silence will drive you crazy, I'll stay up," said Keira quietly. "I can manage it." Keira did keep her eyes open for about an hour, and she felt safe sitting next to Reese, but soon her eyelids became heavy, almost impossible to keep open, and she found herself drifting off into a state of sub-consciousness. Yawning and leaning against Reese's shoulder, she fell asleep, and her sleep was peaceful and dreamless. OOC:: You can go ahead and start up Act 5.
The group woke up and began their journey the corridor. They are now in the main control room, this is the closest place to get outside to the airport. They are close to their destination. When they go to the door to open towards the outside it won't open, they try the buttons, and rigorous hacking. Nothing works. They are forced to go down the stairs and began a crazy journey to the main electricity room. They are now underground, this the place that was hit the hardest of the generators explosion because this is where the explosions origins were. The generator room is close, but that isn't their destination. It's the main electricity room. Act 5 Deceiving Mechanics Main Goals: Survive Act Goals: Get to the main electricity room Explore the generator to see how it was sabotaged Escape the Underground by going up the same stairs As the group began walking down yet another dreaded hallway with many offices. They hear a piece of rubble shift. There is something in the rubble of one of the offices. Is it friend or foe?
Jena walked slowly with the rest of the group. They were all silent, the silence tense with parnoia that Ursula would come back and try to kill them all again. Jena had her henad curled around her gun ready for an attack much like everyone else. She wished someone would speak and break the silence, but at the same time she was afraid that if someone did the aliens would come back and finish them off for good...They contined on in silence for a while longer. "What was that?!" A sound, the sound of rubble moving from one of the offices, had broken the silence. Drawing her gun, Jena pointed her gun into the room and took a cautious step forward.
