I'm on chapter 5 of 27 and my endurance is flagging. It just feels really self-indulgent, to me. Like Hurt/Comfort fanfic, dressed up as a literary novel. Has anyone else read it? I'm trying to decide if I should keep going... I'm listening to the audio version so I can't just skim, which is what I'd likely do if it were a printed copy...
Absolutely - keep going! I felt the same way and then it just got better and better. On reflection, I found it slightly unrealistic, but it stayed with me for months.
