Hi everyone, My name is Diana and on the spare time I have in between my college life, I'll like to hone my writing skills. I barely just discovered this site today and pleasantly enough, I really like this forum's focus. I just recently started writing again and I really just want to find ways to improve on my delivery and expression. This sounds like a great community. Hopefully I can learn a lot from here.
Hello, Diana, welcome to WF. In what genre(s) do you write? I'm more into fantasy and horror, myself X)
Yay, thank you for the welcome. I don't really have a genre. I guess, I haven't really found my niche. I do like romance and drama though. I also like stories that dig deeper than the surface. Lol, but I guess horror is a definite no, no for me. I'm a big wuss and tend to stay away from scary stories. Maybe I'll toughen up one day and write one.
Hello Diana, Welcome to the Writing Forums. First time writer or twenty year veteran, every writer worthy of the name strives to improve his or her writing. So you are in good company. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
