    A word for 'recordation'

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by thearchitect, Jul 19, 2014.

Just wondering how one would say, for example, 'Data beyond recordation', if there was, say, too much to be recorded, what is the proper word?

What's it being recorded on? A hard drive? Wouldn't it just say "Disk full"?

Hey, some times the right answer isn't always the one you have to search for, but instead one that's right there in front of your face.

I think the better question is, why does there have to be a single word for it? Why a single word for anything?

If you must use that word in some form you could say "Recording limit reached." But no, "recordation" is not a word. And if you try to make it one I shall swim through the InterToobs and personally confiscate your computer.

I do not see why you cannot simply invent the word. If you have discovered a gap in the linguistic market, so to speak, then you can sell your word there. Coin the phrase!
