    Advice from Famous People

Discussion in 'Word games' started by Doug J, Dec 23, 2008.

A simple game - where one thread leads to another.

First take on a persona – ANYONE (or thing?) living or dead – and write the “advice” that that persona might give to the person’s persona in the previous thread. If you think a likely reader would not know who your persona is – please explain the most salient exploits in parenthesis after their name.

For example, imagine the following thread flows:

    Dear Amy Winehouse,

Saw you in the newspaper again today! It seems like you are having a lot of fun kid – keep up the good work and know that I’m high on you.

    Love,

    Courtney Love

    Next post might be:

    Dear Courtney Love,

I wished we could have partied together: you, me and your husband, Kurt Cobain, well before he killed himself – and well, before I killed myself. We would have been just gonzo together.

Hunter S. Thompson (altered state 70’s writer who coined the phrase “gonzo journalism”)

    My Dearest Hunter,

    Your Gonzo term intrigues us
But your drug use scares the bejesus
Out of every Grinch and blue skeexis
And despite your pleas and teases
The stuff you ingest would certainly bring us
Right down to our knobby knees-es

    Dr. Seuess

So the next person to post would offer advice to Dr. Seuess.

    Dear Dr, Seuess,

"To say a little is often to tell more than to say a great deal" :D.

    Yours,

    Thomas Hardy
English writer, 19th century, wrote (Mayor of Casterbridge, Far From The Madding Crowd)

(I hope I got this right. This is a great thread Doug J)
