Hi all, I've always loved reading and been fascinated by good storytelling - so decided to have a go at writing one myself. So I've joined to learn some basics, important info and anything else that can help the process. I've got a story in mind which I've recently began to write. I'm one chapter in (although it's a chapter that will sit somewhere in the middle of the book), any takers to have a read? I'm mostly interested to know if it writes and flows well, paints a vivid picture, tells the story of the chapter and anything else of significance to you. Any takers? Or is there somewhere specific on this forum to post/request? Many thanks in advance ladies and gents.
You can post your work to the workshop forum. You have to complete a few things first though. Everything you need to know about the forum can be read in the new members guide have a read through and you will find this place easy to get around. Welcome to the forums Amanda
Unless you get volunteers, reviews on this particular forum are only available to people who make themselves inclusive in the conversations. You'll need to be a member for at least 2 weeks (I think) and also have posted reviews for other people's work. This is because reviews take time and effort and we need to make sure that all is fair. But it is also because you can learn an incredible amount by reading and reviewing what other people are writing. So this is the right place for you to both learn and share.
On behalf of the staff, welcome to the forum, Ally! As for using the workshop, here're the requirements in a nutshell: 2 weeks of membership with the forum 2 constructive critiques given to items already in the Workshop 20 post minimum (other than the 2 critiques, the other posts can be from anywhere in the forum)
