Hello, Writers block, stumbling rock... I don't know. I have written a paragraph I quite like that fits my story well. However, in working on it off and on for several days, I came to realize redundancy. I've used "...the likes of..." twice in that same paragraph. No replacement my tired ol' noggin can think of at the moment sounds as good as "the likes of". I could sleep on it but thought it might be fun to get suggestions from others. What are some other ways of saying the same thing? Thanks!
If the context is "the likes of which they'd never seen" then something like "of a sort they'd never seen" might work. In these instances it can be helpful to just rewrite the entire problem paragraph -- remove the problem passage completely instead of looking for synonyms!
