    Anti-Villain

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Killer300, May 7, 2011.

Okay, I've heard of the concept of an anti-hero, but what about the anti-villain? There are plenty of villains that perhaps even have good intentions, yet they don't get their own term, although I have read the term anti-hero apparently is sometimes used that way. But anyway, I want people to tell me examples of anti-villains, and perhaps what should be necessary to fulfill this term. Probably more than just a simple reversal of the anti-hero.

Type in google: tvtropes anti-villain. It's pretty good description/list of examples.

Interesting take. Imho, the world is full of anti-villains, in particular those working for the government. The majority means well, but all work on systems aimed at reducing individual liberties .....
