    Any good story writing websites?

Discussion in 'Electronic Publishing' started by rakeshhocrox, Jan 23, 2015.

I am just started writing and this may sound weird but i want to be a famous writer. Do you have any suggestions on websites where i could start off? I just have always wanted to see one of my stories in print in a library. Any suggestions on what to do?

My suggestion is to be willing to put years of hard work into your writing with very little (or zero) recognition to show for it. You aren't going to achieve your goal if you aren't extremely committed and realistic.

Is there anything specific you're looking for? I can't think of any website with 100% accurate information on all aspects of writing.

Take it from the web surfer girl, you don't need a middlewoman, you just need to be willing to surf, which is kind of fun, so don't fear the Goog.

I've heard that writingforums.org is rather good. You should go check that one out.

Before you learn how to say it, make sure you're clear in your mind what you want to say. Refinement can come later (or at least simultaneously). The Net is full of tips, but there is no "right way" or step by step plan to becoming a great writer. If there was such a thing there would be many more great writers. Just as Photoshop is a great graphics tool, but it won't create a picture for you.

Work on the story you want to tell first, be it a textbook or a fairy tale.

I hope you haven't paid them anything.

I just went to have a look, started to register, and then ran a mile when I was offered a choice between "Requester" and "Writter" (sic!).
