I am writing a little short story in a futuristic Lagos and I wanted to include the use of Nigerian Pidgin to make the native characters seem more like are from there and for it just make more sense. I've found a few websites that give some basic conversation phrases and what not and I've done some research on culture, demographics and geography of Lagos. I just really want to some more knowledge about Nigerian Pidgin. I grew in a place where another Pidgin was used quite often so I am not unfamiliar to this form of communication but it is obviously a lot different to the one I grew up hearing around town. If anyone could help that would be great
A bit late, but here are some sources I found that you may or may not have seen already. https://www.britishcouncil.org/voices-magazine/nigerian-pidgin-words-phrases https://matadornetwork.com/abroad/beginners-guide-to-nigerian-pidgin-english/ https://www.britishcouncil.org/voices-magazine/nigerian-pidgin-words-phrases https://utalk.com/en/store/pidgin-nigerian https://www.rogerblench.info/Language/English/Nigerian English Dictionary.pdf I honestly knew next-to-nothing about Nigerian Pidgin before now. I've always thought that Pidgin languages were interesting, so this was a fun learning opportunity.
