Thank you! You may remember that Katara is the daughter Barnabas never knew he had. And I don't think Katara would recognize Barnabas as her father ... not yet.

 

I will keep this in mind. Mwahaha. I can't wait for this reveal. Also, this poor, poor tavern. I mean, the HIGH mage and scientist are just SHOWING up. It's like if the Prime Minster showed up at your door. Like, OMFG.

 

It's good opportunity for big drama. But this is like a loaf of sourdough. If you're too hasty with throwing it in the oven so you can eat it, it won't be very good.

This is actually very much true. The slower the dough ferments to the desired acidity, the better it tastes. If you proof it in a super warm place so it ferments fast, it won't be as good. I don't really know the science behind that but you can look it up for proof!

This works with regular yeast-fermented dough as well. If you let it slowly ferment in your fridge over the course of three days instead of the typical few hours in the kitchen counter, the result is worlds apart.

Basically the moral of the story: Let's not be hasty. There is even a proverb in Greece for this very philosophy: Το καλο πραγμα αργει να γινει (good things take time to be).

Sadly, I'm Gluten-Free, so no Sourdough for me anymore. But I 100% understand what you're saying. So, Slow Chaos-Burn it is! I will go slowly with this one. So, I might switch to Ravenna's POV, because she won't KNOW who these guys are. Just that they are important.

 

I posted! I know it is rather short, but I hope you enjoy. Alisso is taking no crap from anyone and also it's important to note he doesn't care too much for authority. What are they going to do? Torture him? He might like that too much.

A couple of notes - Hemios was acting out of character. He’s not one to react in arrogant anger. Also, I hope to see the High Mage and High Scientist have a strategic plan, possibly some sort of subterfuge, that goes beyond interviewing Bossman.

And if anyone wants to write a flashback, I would love to know what transpired between Katara and Barnabas after their meeting in the woods!

 

I will fix!! I am going to eat food and do that. So, don’t start drafting the next entry yet.

Totally agree! The two of them should have some very interesting plans up their sleeves. But those can certainly start with some questions.

Your post makes me think about Olive. She is almost ready to start receiving some development, but I'm not sure how I would go about to get that started. I've been thinking about it to no end.

Her problem is that she can't focus. Magic requires mental focus to "shape" it. She'd need a way around that and that's exactly what I've been thinking about.

It's not something that she'll discover or master overnight, but that something needs to be plausible. I have some ideas though.

For now, I'm also thinking more broadly about the story and the possibilities. There are many. I'm primarily thinking about the Queen and what her objective could be. It should probably be something our characters wouldn't want to happen.

 

I'm travelling to mississippi this weekend for work. I'll have time Monday to post. Forewarning, it's probably gonna be a big one. I've been planning it since my last post. Should be late at night Monday. Good work on the posts everyone!
