I'm big on hoping to give the reader an 'Ah-ha!' moment. When I've done my craft well there will be a part of the story where the reader gets hits with a hidden left jab. I get a lot of enjoyment out of that. Do you make a big deal out of celebrating Halloween? (Damn you @Masked Mole !)
I want to be the type of writer where if I moved in next to you all your plants would die. Given how much of a shitstorm it already is, is it acceptable to personally insult (not just debate in a somewhat harsh way) people on the Internet as long as their arguments are flawed?
Fender Jaguar, Mexican made. I like all sorts of music, and Jags are great for tone flexibility. The Mexican ones have a killswitch, which is always fun to mess with. And they just look cool. Not so bizarre that you look like a poser, but not boring like a Strat or Les Paul. But I think how is more important than what you play. It's not even a thing where I live. I'd probably dig it if it was genuinely about spooky stuff and tradition, but pop cultural osmosis suggests to me that it's mostly a commercial event. The main thing I hate about capitalism is how greedy it is, to the point that it corrupts anything with meaning if it can make a quick buck. But yeah, no experience with Halloween, so maybe I'm jumping the gun. One can say what one wants, but I think that ad hominem attacks speak volumes about your own personality (as well as devaluing your actual contention, and the likelihood that you'll ever convince anyone, assuming you're arguing).
