That’s what I thought, but I’ve only gotten them in this thread, and on my phone where I have my Safari browser open to WF and never use it for anything else. Even when I’ve been searching for Faleena and cocky stories it’s in a different browser, and I don’t log into any of them. Safari stays open to WF and that’s all I use it for—everything else is FF or Chrome so how does that work?
SOMEONE HAS ESCAPED! (I know it's technically "cockiest" but you know Faleena'll be down on them like a ton of bricks as soon as she finds out.) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/kindle/series/B07D3PMPBK?ref=series_aw_dp_link
After RWA intervened amazon have said they won't take down any more cocky books until the trademark validity is resolved. (KKs petition to cancel has been submitted, and scheduled, the next move is Faleena's as she has a certain period to respond to the petition ... i think if she doesn't respond the TM will be automatically revoked , if she decides to fight it out this could drag on into 2019 )
I don't see ads in this thread at all in chrome so i don't know ... the only ad i see is top right in the main forum and seems to favour austin mcauley ... although i'd rathe sign up to ashley madison than give them a red cent
I only see them on my phone, in Safari. On Chrome, on my laptop, I don't see them. The only thing odd is that it is in Safari, which I only use for this forum. When I'm searching the internet for whatever I feel like searching for, I use Firefox on my phone.
Back on topic i have to say that i have a tiny smidge of sympathy for Faleena's claim of cyber bullying looking at the one star reviews shes been left on amazon, good reads and elsewhere while she undoubtedly deserved what she got from romancelandia and on twitter a) some of the reviews are really nasty - yes shes behaved like an idiot, yes her writing is bad, yes she's a bully - but threatening rape and arson in response... really ? Get a fucking grip. b) misusing the review function isn't something any author should support - by all means give her one star because her writing is dreadful, her books littered with errors, the action overblown and unbelievable, but the review function is there to comment on the book, not on the author, and misusing it is childish and wrong. So yeah, I don't like what she's done, and personally she comes across as a bit of an idiot, so I oppose her stance on cockygate, and have and will continue to both criticise her and take the piss out of her more overblown writing...which is fair enough - that isn't cyber bullying and its what she asked for by the way she treated others. However some of the behaviour out there crosses the line, is cyber bullying, and the people concerned should be ashamed of themselves too
I agree with you. these cyber-warriors think they are doing well by doling out their own brand of "justice" but they are soo wrong. Regardless of what I think of her, her books and the whole cockygate crap, I wouldn't wish her ill will.
I'd bet money that the nastier reviews are band wagon jumping trolls, who aren't writers, are probably posting in their underpants from mummies basement and would shit a brick if their bluff was called. It still isn't pleasant or acceptable though
In her product descriptions she's asked people to ignore one-star reviews posted after the 4th of May. (She's also told them only to look at five-star reviews for "honest" opinions, so there's that.) I think that the whole five-star review (of which, to be fair, she has no shortage) thing is rather egotistical and I have scant sympathy for her over the whole affair, but I don't entirely blame her for wanting to filter her reviews. There's some blatantly nasty stuff there. As a writer, I've always favoured poetic justice. Let her precious trademark get revoked. Hopefully she'll learn something and not make the same mistake again.
I may have mentioned this elsewhere, but when I'm considering a book, I usually check out a few of the five stars, a few of the three stars, and a few of the one stars. There's generally good information in all of those bands. However. if you're looking for a book about the Holocaust, never go below the three star level. Just trust me.
Funny enough, I always start with the one Stars, ignore the five stars and usually just trust the three star review the one-star reviews are usually just humor myself. But I agree the three star usually more reliable
She shouldn't play the youtuber game by trying to cut out the things she disagrees with. It makes her look petty and childish. It is also kinda a big red flag when someone tries to plug their ears and go la la la, just so they don't have to deal with anything honest even if it isn't a stellar review for a book that they did not enjoy. Just my 2 coins worth.
I think most potential readers are intelligent enough to know the difference between 1/5 This book had wooden characters, stiffer than Jaxons Cocky, and was scattered with mistakes. ad 1/5 This author is a horrible human being I hope someone rapes her and burns down her house. (I'd also note that some of the more intelligent false reviewers are giving higher star ratings but still using the comments to complain about cocky gate) Imo Amazon should nuke all the false reviews, including some of the 5 stars which are clearly shills, and delete her comment about where to look
