Hello all, I thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. I stumbled on this site quite by accident and thought it looked interesting. It's also rather large, and so I am sure it will take me some time to get acquainted. I'm here because I enjoy writing and relating to others that write. It's good to know that I am not alone. Looking forward to meeting you. ~DreamSong~
Welcome to the Writing Forums! As self-proclaimed leader of the welcoming committee, you have a choice of snacks, since we got a bigger salary. You can Oreo's, mmm...Oreo's, or you can have Snickerdoodles! Both come with a glass of milk! P.S.~Don't tell anyone I'm offering you Snickerdoodles, those are to be on the down low. =D
Hello DreamSong, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
The Gingerbread Men have formed an anti-Defamation Movement, having decided they will no longer be treated as objects for consumption.
That is why they are in such short supply, and therefore so expensive...We'll just get eh Gingerbread Women and Babies then.
Make MAaxie Boi share the OREOS! Hello to you, Dreamsong, welcome to the family, you will fit right in, I can tell. But come along to Raven's Tavern and mingle among the regulars, there is ne'er a dull moment (especially if Wreybies is on, and look out for Rumpole too). We enjoy nonesty and sharing and you can PM somebody whne ever you need help, or to just chat. Have fun. May your words flow and your keys never strike back.
I like that last line, zorell. Clever. Thus far, my keys are under my control, but there is always a chance of mutiny.
