I know this seems like a somewhat pointless thread but I am a master of pointless and besides was curious what you'd all think. Obviously most of this is 99.9 percent craziness but there has been quite a big conspiarcy theory going around involving these children books and parallel universes. http://www.avclub.com/article/how-you-spell-berenstain-bears-could-be-proof-para-223615 http://www.vice.com/read/the-berensteain-bears-conspiracy-theory-that-has-convinced-the-internet-there-are-parallel-universes http://www.canada.com/entertainment/all/98It+Berenstain+like+coffee+stain+Jell+stain+Berenstain/11285430/story.html http://woodbetweenworlds.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/the-berenstein-bears-we-are-living-in.html (creator's son commented on that blog) Okay so we all obviously know we aren't from mirror universes (as cool as that be ) But I post this thread to ask. Which do you all remember? Because I remember it as Berenstein (I always said it like steen) but it seems to be Barenstain but boy I swore it was Berenstein? So about you all which do you remember it as or say it? Either way a fun little theory XD So which do you all recall it as just from going off memory....
I don't think those books ever took off in my country, so I only ever came across one or two, but I remember it as Berenstain, rhyming with rain. Names with the suffix -stein aren't very common here, so perhaps I paid more attention to the spelling as I had less basis for assumptions. What's the prevalence of the surname Berenstain vs Berenstein in the US? Neither are on behindthename, and all Google gives me is this conspiracy theory.
It's always been Berenstain, going back to the first 'bears' book in the early 1960s. "Berenstain" is the last name of the authors of the books.
I really annoyed my family with this 'Mandela Effect.' The one that tripped me up was the 'location of Sri Lanka...' which has moved, if you look on the maps.
