Ok here's a stupid question but Im baffled by this. I buy blank DVDs to make "Back Ups" of "my" films. I use DVD+Rs yet others use DVD-Rs whats the difference with +Rs and -Rs. Baffles the hell out of me.
It's kind of like VHS and Betamax. Or Blueray and HD DVD. They are just different formats of disc, which were fighting it out for supremacy, and were then sidelines when first hard disk recording (i.e. Sky Plus), then HD came along. There aren't really any advantages or disadvantages to either, I don't think. EDIT: After reading up on wikipedia, DVD-R has a higher capacity than DVD+R, unless they are dual layer, in which case DVD+R has the higher capacity. But in either case it's so miniscule a difference that it's hardly worth mentioning.

lol Strange though because I was always told +Rs were supposed to be better at info holding. I just wondered how the -Rs were here first and then +Rs popped up and everyone started to use them.
lol that is why some of us never bother to try and figure itout DOZ lol my sister understands it completely...I still get lost!
Lol all I know is that when i'm selling camcorders at work certain ones take - disks and some are +....
